Just wondered if it would be possible to get the bots to use the phase gate when they work out the shortest distance between 2 places, would really help when trying to seige hives etc instead of having them run all the way from spawn and losing half of your seige turrets before they get there. I noticed that there was a teleport waypoint i think it was but i assumed this was for SC because it would be useless for NS unless you put the phase gate on the waypoint everytime.

it means altering bots path info, because they think out their path before they walk it. atm its currently like...

goto waypoint 1 --> goto waypoint 2 --> goto waypoint 3

all stored as numbers only

this would need to be changed to something which will allow

goto waypoint 1 --> use phase gate XYZ --> goto waypoint 10

also the phase gates are a bit dodgy at working out what phase gate you will end up in.

The way the phase gates work is that you always come out in the order they are built in so after the one you build at spawn, you will come out at the next gate that was built and so on and so on. That's why you can get the phase select mod so that you don't have to go through all the gates just to get to the last one.
Just another thing....with maps like co_basic where the phase gates are already there, would it be possible to use the teleporter waypoint for those or does that only work for SC?

waypoints are out the question, especially for things that will change in the game each time.
However, teleport waypoints will work if phase gates stay the in same place (e.g. in co_basic as you said). Tthey will use the path through the phase gates that way, BUT they wont use them, I believe you haev to "Use" the phase gates. The bots won't know they have to do it since I haven't programmed them to, yet.

This may work if a bot takes advantage of a schedule called 'use phase gate'

which is

find path to phase gate
use phase gate [takes edict of phase gate]
[if not standing on destination phase gate, then use phase gate again]
find path to destination
