Ok so I have installed RCBot, done everything in the readme etc. done it all correctly so now im thinking hey this is going to be good. The problem is whenever i type in a command it NEVER works. It just doesnt do anything. Not a sausage. I type it in my dedicated server console, i wouldd try as RCON but i cant remember how to log in, and it is the same for whichbot, the commands just dont do ANYTHING.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I saw your post regarding the same question over at whichbot.com and saw you had fixed it. I have also answered your second question regarding crashing and will post a duplicate reply here too.

Yep it was AMX, i took it off and works like a beauty. Both WB and RCBot work to perfection ... but i have one gripe. I run a dedicated server for natural selection, now i want to get the bot menu up and login as rcon etc., i have bound a key and when i press it it says in the console that i dont have access to this function, obv because the bot wasnt designed for dedicated servers like this. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have not authorised yourself with RcBot! This subject has been covered quite exhaustively elsewhere in the forum on how to set the bot_users.ini file up for authenticating you.

However imagine you had set yourself up in there correctly as:

lightning with a password of flash

when in game go to the console and type

rcbot set_pass flash

and you should get a message to say that you have been authorised.
If it says password set you have not setup your bot_users.ini file correctly!

Your bound key should now work... cool.gif

you can't use the "bot menu" in the dedicated server because it's for the client only and it doesn't really make sense to use it anyway. You need to give yourself access (See gruuunts post) and then join the game and use the menu while playing in the game.

keeps saying password set although i firmly believe i have set up the bot_users.ini correctly ... unless i need to install rcbot to my actual game aswell. Ill try that now
