There's a problem that I've been having with every version of RCBot 2 to date. The problem occurs only when I have the plugin loaded, and it occurs even when there are no humans in the server. I've done everything suggested by Valve support, and I've also tried using RCBot 2 on a different computer, but the problem is the same. The bots will load up and run wonderfully for anywhere between five minutes and hour, but hl2.exe always inevitably crashes. The error message is usually:

Team Fortress 2: hl2.exe - Application Error
The exception Privileged instruction.
(0xc0000096) occurred in the application at location 0x00010100.
Click on OK to terminate the program

Although on occasion it instead displays:

Team Fortress 2: hl2.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00010101" referenced memory at "0x09f029b1". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program

Nothing shows up in the event viewer. I'm reasonably sure it's not a conflicting background program as I've already tried restarting my system with all nonessential background programs deactivated. The fact that so many other people are running it with no problems leads me to believe there's something I'm doing wrong, but I'm out of ideas for now. Anything you could suggest to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. My internet access is somewhat spotty and I often can't play TF2 online, and RCBot 2 is a great help for me and those in my situation. If you need to know what system I'm using, its information can be found here. Thanks a bunch for your assistance.

i get "Exception Privileged Instruction error" when i type in plugin_load "..\bin\HPB_Bot2"

and then i click ok and it boots me out of the game.

I put the files in the right folders.

I just download TF2 from steam a few days ago.

will this work with my download?

You have an illegal version (NonSteam), the game kicks you out because of this.

My copy of TF2 is legitimate. I bought The Orange Box through the Steam store about a year and a half ago. I've had Steam verify the game files and it says that all is well. I've also tried reinstalling TF2 just for the heck of it, but it has made no difference.

It fixes a crash caused by the scout update, thats why it needs the update.

It appears on all maps that RCBot 2 comes with waypoints for. I haven't tried it on any other maps because I haven't attempted to install any additional waypoints yet.

Today whilst trying to get RCBot 2 to work I got a new and exciting and marginally different error message:

Team Fortress 2: hl2.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "013b8e0f2" referenced memory at "0x16b111fc". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program

same happens to me... Dedicated server running on Windows server2003 platform with ample processing and ram available... Server is running SourceMod, Beetles Mod, and MetaMod as well as rcbot 2... i use beetles mod's autojoins.cfg file to call bots immediatly after map change and it works perfectly, however the server will crash before tooo long.. i have been unable to tie the crash to a specific in game evet, so i am perplexed...

any help would be most appreciated!!

thnx in advance smile.gif
