Member Group: Members Posts: 13 Joined: 30-January 04 Member No.: 207	I was just playing with rcbot 1.3 and i have to say congradulations to all involved the marine AI was bloody brilliant. Certainly the best I have ever played with. This is in NS anyway. I played sven Co-op 3 last night and the AI in that was great as well. Back to NS. The marine AI had everything for it. The bots finally followed waypoints set by the commander and they moved out and searched for enemies. Im not sure about aliens because i havent played as them yet but the they seemed to be pretty good. As far as i could see there were only two problems. The first one was only small at the start of the game all the bots left the base in pursuit of the enemy and no one stayed around to build anything. I had to do it myself. However this wasnt that important as they started to build stuff as the game went on. The second problem was a bit worse. When the Marines used their knife on alien res towers and that kind of thing they ignored any aliens in the area. I lost so many marines that simply sat and knifed at res tower while they were getting bitten in the back. Apart from those two things everything was great and i have to commend the rcbot team for a job well done. cant wait to see the next version.

Yeah it should. Although I added extra things needed for steam in the bot code that might not work, so try it out

I might need to make another dll file for WON mods.

RCBot Fan Group: Mappers Posts: 104 Joined: 22-September 03 From: England Member No.: 29	fantastic job cheeseh !!!, just finished an hour long game on eclipse, not because the bots were too rubbish to finish it, but because they geniunely put up a good fight. The bots on the whole are much more aggressive (it took 3 attempts to take one of the hives) and marine spawn nearly went down on more than one occasion, also the aliens spread out and took the res and hives fairly quickly and defended them with a good number of OC's. They were evolving much more, loads of lerks and fades i came across (yes i can now get in the battle knowing the bots will follow and cover me, and wont just sit there and mass suicide cos they hav no orders ). I didnt see any onos but i think that the bot profiles just need a bit of tweaking as i only had 6 ppl on the alien team. Navigation i couldnt fault at all, they went where i ordered them to unless engaged in in fighting an enemy which they would then chase till they killed it ... superb. my only complaint now is that the difficulty level culd be improved, the marines and skulks aiming still arent too fantastic, and i dunno if this was a bug but the bot menu seemed like one big jumbled up mess

Member Group: Members Posts: 15 Joined: 29-January 04 Member No.: 204	I just have one question....i played with my older brother,we were only 2 marines, against 4 Aliens but i only saw skulks and gorge's why no other liveforms....cuz that i mixed it with the Whichbot?2 RCBOT's and 2 Whichbot's were in game as aliens(Xeno's). Plz help....

Member Group: Members Posts: 13 Joined: 30-January 04 Member No.: 207	i played a game as aliens and the bots seemed to work pretty well. The aliens gorges built a fair bit around their starting hive but they didnt expand. And of course the marines didnt do anything because they didnt have a comm.

Admin Group: Admin Posts: 3,066 Joined: 11-September 03 From: uk Member No.: 1	I've said this many times before about commanding, becuase I just hacked the comm stuff, its not done properly at all, and was extremely buggy, they never even used resources. Thats why. Until I get some idea of how to do it from flayra they wont comand yet.
