Alright, now I haven't really played on any servers other than my own in like months, and I went to go play on Grunts server, and steam hangs at "Verifying and downloading resources..."

So I went to a few different servers, and they're all doing it!

So then I uninstalled and reinstalled steam completely, and they're STILL doing it, what in the hell! Anyone know how to fix this crap before I go nuts?

...more nuts than I already am anyhow.

I dunno, perhaps your steam is updating or something... or you don't have the map and its downloading maps/sounds or more likely you have a firewall which won't let you access external HL servers sad.gif

But what about my problem? tongue.gif check this out.. laugh.gif

(That's gonna be my new sig biggrin.gif )

just tried to play again, had a bad lag and steam quit itself.. wtf

I useda be able to connect to em fine, and I DO have have a linksys BEFSR41, but I'm DMZ'd

Thats like the jackedupedest error I've ever seen. You sure your steam is set to english? lol laugh.gif

you got a BEFSR41, me too.

I heard the latest firmware f***ed up HL. I found a fix:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,10738901~mode=flat

i.e. just shove in an extra +clientport 27006 into command line when you run. worked for me so far.. damn linksys sad.gif

arf.. I'm using the latest one, having those weird problems you saw up there. USe the clientport fix before trying tongue.gif

Tried the clientport thingy, still does the same thing... gonna roll back the driver and see what happens lol. dry.gif


Rolled back.. trying a game...

Looks like its working fine, gonna resetup the port forwarding...

ports forwarded, still seems to be working...

..... i think.. damn it steam pisses me off sometimes.
