Q: I type "rcbot addbot" and the console says something about "no profiles are free"

A: Bots have their own profiles stored as files in the botprofiles folder. Also the file called bot_profiles.ini must have numbers in them (each line is a valid profile number).

The most common situation is that you simply have not installed rcbot to the correct folder. RCBot must be installed ABOVE the mod folder (that's the same folder where the MOD folder is, NOT inside the MOD folder!)

In STEAM, and if running mods such as deathmatch classic where the mod is in its own folder (i.e. not inside half-life steam app folder), you must make another copy of the bot folder and put it in the "steamapps/<email>" folder too.

This software assumes that the person installing it has access to the folder above the mod folder. My host uses Gamepanel for remote file access, and I only have access to the NS folder and on. Thus I have installed RCBot there. There should be a config of some sort, or something that searches for the rcbot folder instead of assuming it is installed in the specified directory. I'm assuming that rcbot knows what mod is being ran, why can't it check the mod folder as well.

Is there any way, with the current software, that I can get this working with RCbot in the NS directory.

can now edit rcbot folder with rcbot_folder.ini file:

here's what to do: if you want to put rcbot in a fodler OTHER THAN half-life/rcbot then make a file called "rcbot_folder.ini" in the MOD folder (NOT rcbot folder!! or that's just stupidity...tongue.gif) then just put the folder where rcbot is installed in the file RELATED TO THE "half-life" folder

For example: If I wanted to put the rcbot fodler inside NS/ folder you NEED a rcbot_folder.ini file in "ns/" like this:

ns\rcbot

that's it
