Hey guys,

My first full rcbot2 waypoint, hope you like it smile.gif . It's very playable, but not finished yet. There are still a number of things I need to add/tweak/fix on it. It's a wip, so if you see something that bugs you, or you just want to give feedback on it, please do so...

This is a very nice looking map, with lots of cool ambush/hiding places. So watch your back, there are a lot of angles for attack...

Some things you should know about the map & rcw:

1. Genmac asked me for a wip rcw, so he could test the map for a possible crash problem (crash fixed, see below), so thats one reason I'm posting it before its done. It could be something going on with my PC, so let us know if it crashes or not on your PC. I'm using steampipe, and my PC might be a little under powered for this map + bots? Most of my crashes have been spectating free roam mode with and without waypoints on. I did have 2 crashes today to my desktop while actually playing the map. I was using the 2nd rcbot2 .73beta dll, the latest release.

2. ohmy.gif There seems to be a scoring bug with this map. Allies score at twice the rate as axis per flag dry.gif ! For each additional flag, allies score 4 points and axis score 2 points. So, at the end of a round either divide the allies score by 2, or multiply the axis score by 2, to determine which side actually won. There are no extra points for capping all the flags, just self gratification... laugh.gif ... If there is a way to fix this, short of modifying the map, like a script or cfg file I could include with the rcw, I'd like to hear how to fix it... wink.gif

3. As for the rcw, most of the map is waypointed, with the exception of one significant location. I'm sure you will figure out where, soon enough. I'll be adding it in later... Also, there are no unreachable wpts yet. That will be one of the last additions to the rcw, after i've polished it up a bit...

Oh yeah, I should mention, I haven't proned any mg's or snipers yet, not that its needed with all the cover locations in this map. So you can run this with the 2nd .73beta and not have hopping mg's laugh.gif ....

Also, I added a number of changes to the rcw today, so hopefully I didn't cause any new issues. One thing I did was add a few large radii to wpts around the map. My original wpt placement wasn't good for adding a lot of large radii, so I may have to move some wpts if I want to add more. In some areas the wpts are on the side of the road, not down the middle, so this is one reason. The other is all the obsticles and intersections...

[edit] Crash problem on this map appears to be fixed with the release of RCbot2 .74r2, yea... biggrin.gif

Hehe crashing is gone bro tnx to the fix on 74R2 by Master Cheeseh.
Spectated and frag some axis for about 30 mins...totally crash free hehe! Allies tends to dominate it though but overall you're doing quite well on your first ever full wpt...keep up the good work!

Here is my report on that, I typed up offline:

Ok, I think I have good news on this map with rcbot2 .74r2... I've run 4 full 20min games, playing the map, with the posted rcw, No crashes... I've never been able to get thru 4 full games, or even 2, without crashing. And thanks to cheesehs excellent job with this release, I was thrilled with how the bots performed with my rcw. The bot vision is much better. Even without unreachables to help them see me, they could pick me off fairly quickly in places you wouldn't expect that, just peeking thru the corner of a high window, or proned on the ground mostly behind cover!!! Awesome, fun stuff, heh heh...

In those 4 games, 2 were full games where neither side could cap all the flags. When one side got a flag, the other side was capping a different flag, and it was happening with all the flags on the map, so i was very pleased. Sometimes one side would go up 3 to 1 flags, but it went the other way too...

In the other 2 games, once on allied & once on axis, I was able to cap all the flags, with bot help, but not quickly. Thus spliting those two games into something like 15min+5min rounds each. Again, no crashes, woo hoo...

So, I don't know for sure yet, if it was the video drivers update(not) , or cheeseh's excellent bug squashing(yep) , that fixed it. But after I'm positive all crashing on this map is gone, i'll go back and try it with .73beta to find out which it was?

So go ahead and playtest it with .74r2, I think you will have a good time.... It's very playable now.

I will be tweaking & updating the rcw once I'm positive the crashing wasn't the map. I will probably do a series of small updates over time, cause it feels close to balanced now. I think it was easier to cap or outscore from the axis side? Just remember to double the axis score to get the actual score...

[edit] So, with genmac's feedback/testing on this map, I think we can safely say, cheesehs excellent bug squashing fixed the crashing issue on this map, yea... biggrin.gif
