I just re-checked my install, and sc4.8 with that rcbot_mm dll still works fine, but I haven't been online steam since june 6th. I'm using rcbot to play singleplayer on a listen server/LAN, no clients are connecting to me. Is that what you are trying to do?
It still sounds like a mismatch between mod & rcbot versions? Are you running more than one svencoop version in steam? When I switch verions, I completely move the whole svencoop folder, so there is only one svencoop version at a time in steam. Did you remove all traces of sc4.7 before installing sc4.8, or did you install over the top? That might cause this problem? Is this your first time installing rcbots? The liblist.gam file loads the metamod.dll, and the plugins.ini in the metamod folder loads the rcbot_mm.dll. Be sure you are using metamod-p, not metamod. I'm a little confused, in your first post it sounds like you had rcbots working on sc4.7 without crashing, but the 2nd post seems to say the opposite? The rcbot_mm dll for sc4.7 will crash on sc4.8, and vice-versa, the rcbot_mm 4.8 dll will crash on sc4.7. Both shortly after bots are added on most maps, but some maps will run longer before the crash. Crystal was an almost immediate crash, and as I recall intruder may run as long as 5 minutes, this was running the rcbot 4.7 dll in sc4.8. Before adding bots, you can check the console for rcbot & metamod versions. My metamod is v1.21p37 & rcbot_ver returns "1.5_BETA_mm_release_win32 (4.8)(Build Aug 17 2013-22:59:59)" The meta interface mismatch error message in the console is normal, has been there forever, and is not a problem. Look for any other errors... |
