Well. I can honistly say, NS 3.0 beta 3 does work on the older WON version of HL and quite nicely I might add. Problem is, the current NS bots don't like it.

Rcbot 1.3 loads up fine and you can add bots but they only join as spectator dry.gif

Whichbot 0.9h beta works a little better. You can add bots and they will join alien team and even evolve but once they die, wb stays dead. blink.gif

Cheeseh, I thought you said the current rcbots still work on won servers? Or was that just for NS 2.X?

Hmm, the bots in WhichBot 0.9h do remain, it probably just needs a wb add in the server.cfg file for map changes, otherwise wb balance is on!

Back to RcBot:

I've been desperate for ages to get RcBot working on any version beta of NS3, The latest RcBot install has been working for the NS2 version with whichbot since upgrading Rcbot, but the marines of Rcbot when using the NS3 server just standstill in the ready room. (Note: I only run 1 instance of HLDS at a time, e.g. Running NS2 or NS3. Not 2 instances 1 of each version at the same time)

I have made sure that the appropriate waypoint files are available, but they join the game and thats it! No changing roles to Marine as set in their profile or using rcbot addbot 1 makes any difference to whether they start playing IN the game.

I have tried using RcBot on its own, without WhichBot and the results are still the same!

I also can no longer use in-game console commands (set_pass no longer responds)and the bot_users.ini is the same obviously for both Ns2 and NS3 as RcBot is common to both in the root folder of HLDS.

I hope this is something really stupid I cannot see... blink.gif
