With an increasing number of people struggling to install RCBot2 I've created an installer for windows listen server. Download here:
http://rcbot.bots-united.com/downloads/RCBot2Installer.zip extract and run setup.exe This installs the latest version from my GitHub to all three mods (Tf2/dod:s/hl2 dm) and updates all hook info automatically as long as you are connected to internet when installing. Remember the bot offsets may differ between TF2 and DOD:S so it comes with a MOD changer in the config folder when installed. HL2DM will always be installed correctly. (IF YOU DON'T DO THE ABOVE THE SERVER MAY CRASH!) Note: If you encounter crashes on cp/pl maps please follow the instructions below: 1. disable auto bot joining 2. change map to cp_dustbowl 3. after the map starts do not join , just enter the command "rcbot debug mstr_offset_search" 4. it will give you a number, write it down 5. in console type "rcbot_const_mstr_offset <number>" with the number 6. now you may add bots 7. enter "rcbot_const_mstr_offset <number>" with the number into rcbot2/config/config.ini to make this automatic (or put in autoexec.cfg) Dedicated Server / Linux follow advanced user instructions from Robocop http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2099 |

Hey INsane_dod,
Good work on the packs and web pages, looks nice, and I liked the mini-reviews too ... I looked at some of the waypoints in Softny's pack, the ones i've checked so far have all been waypointed by a member of this forum. I have a feeling none of the waypoints in that pack were done by Softny? Here are the waypoints I have checked for original waypoint owners... Credits Corrections: dod_verdun_b3 - htt123 - 13809 dod_beaverville_b2 - Emotional & madmax2 - 10347 dod_don - Emotional & madmax2 - 11395 dod_arrierveld_rcw2 - Emotional & madmax2 - 14834 - not in Softny's pack Note: Emotional & I teamed up on several waypoints, Emotional autowaypointed them, and I fixed/polished them... ==================================================================== I haven't finished going through Softny's pack, and these are not in the 37 pack, but at least 3 are my wpts and 1 is htt123's: dod_azure - madmax2 - 16632 dod_marche - madmax2 - 10695 dod_vigilance - madmax2 - 15514 dod_beachlanding_tdf - htt123 - 31497 I'll post more info over the next few days... I can probably post the links to the original owners/downloads if you need them... most are in the forums, I believe. Many of the waypoints were done on waypoint system 3 (RCbot 0.76 and earlier). If they are loaded on a newer RCbot version, they automatically are converted and saved in the newer waypoint 4 format. The size of the waypoint will increase by 64 bytes. I think all of HTT's waypoints were in the newer format, so size will remain the same on those... I do have some "fixed" waypoints I never released, one is dod_beachlanding_tdf. I think the main reason many waypoints never were added to the installer was because the original owner never asked to do so. Also, waypoints were in flux back then, and the forums seemed the best place at the time, I guess... |

Thanks for the info on the waypoint conversion, I will do some reading on the guides, I have waypointed for ShirkeBot and SturmBot but never this one. |

I've updated the installer with the waypoints I've checked a small number of waypoints, and dod_bretagne_v2 is somewhat broken, though bots do cap they seem to bunch up a lot and get stuck in places, looks ugly ... I may upload a fixed version of dod_beachlanding_tdf after I've checked it, and maybe a few others I fixed a while back. So maybe remove dod_bretagne_v2 after I've done that? Actually, some of the other "fixed" waypoints are not in Insane's pack or the installers. [edit] Per Insane's mini-reviews, sounds like the wn71 waypoints have serious problems too? I may check those too? @ Insane, I sent 3 PM's to you with corrected credits for your web pages... |
