huh.gif Not sure if this goes in the bug forum or not but after playing a combat level in NS if I leave the game and start a new map things are messed up. I am useing metamod whichbot rcbot ns 3.03b. When I play a combat map after I leave and start a new map the Rcbot does not respond anymore. Not sure about the whichbot that seems hit or miss. I have a key bound to the rcbot menu and it does not work also if I try commands in the console they do not work no error message about command not found just nothing happens dry.gif

Also in the combat levels say co_core I can't use the command chair is this normal? Heck I made it all the way to general on one level and could give myself all the goodies but could not use the command chair. Whats up with that blink.gif

My current NS server runs fairly well, but not incredible, it looks a little somethin like this.. well the important part anyhow

AMD Duron 1.30GHz
512MB PC 133 RAM

The HD is crapped out, that'll be replaced soon, well, everything's gettin replaced soon, but I'd suggest somethin along the lines of a 1.4 GHz processor, and 512+ meg of ram, that is, if you're using bots. If not, I had a plain jane TFC/CS server running on a 750Mhz Athlon and it ran pretty good.

As far as the sound card, server OSs don't even come with the sound enabled, for obvious reasons, and the video card isn't overly important, so long as you can run comfortable resolutions, the main thing you need to worry about is processor speed and good amounts of ram...

You might wanna set up a system not in a case (put a box over it if you have cats biggrin.gif ), load it up with all the ram you can find, and run either memtest86 or gold memory on it for a day or two to test for problems in the memory itself... RAM flaws can cause a lot of problems, constant crashes, hangs, random freakin' OS reboots, so affectionately called "complimentary reboots", etc.

And as far as gettin' a copy of XP or 2000 Server or what have you, if you're in college, or know someone who is, it's usually VERY easy to get legit OEM copies of the software from the bookstores there for like $5.

But yeah, Cheeseh's the man, the HAL alone they implemented in NT based systems is worth the upgrade, no more system crashes due to hardware conflicts, and the memory manager in 9x/ME I swear was written by a blind deaf dumb retarded one-armed 4 year old... ph34r.gif
