Hey guys, I'm kinda new here, so I don't know exactly where this goes, but if someone could answer my question, that would be great.

I am positive that I installed RCBot correctly. However, when I try to load the plugin, it says it fails to load the plugin "...\bin\HPB_Bot2". Is there something I'm missing?

By the way, I run Vista and I do not run this game via Orange Box.

You have three periods in it. You only need two.

You have:
"...\bin\HPB_Bot2"

It should be:
"..\bin\HPB_Bot2"

assuming that was a typo, make sure HPB_Bot2.dll is in the teamfortress2/bin folder.

Please help! I have placed the HPB_Bot2.dll in the "team fortress 2/bin" folder and the "rcbot 2" folder is in the "SteamApps\myemail" folder. Whenever I boot up TF2 and type in "plugin_load ..\bin\HPB_Bot2" the game immediately crashes to desktop and gives an error message about "memory that couldn't be written" or something like that. I've typed in sv_cheats 1 beforehand also and no go. How do I fix? Thanks.

Make sure you have the latest RCBot2 from here:
http://www.filefront.com/13945364/RCBot2_0.4.4.zip//

If it still doesn't load then I think you have an illegal version of Team Fortress 2.

Had downloaded the RC bot2 file (.40) from your most recent files section (http://rcbot.bots-united.com/) for TF2 but downloaded the one that Geralt linked to (ver .44) and now it's not crashing but still not able to add bots. When I type in "rcbot addbot #" command, it won't add any bots, it gives a reply message of "you do not have access to this command". How do I add bots?

Make sure that you load the mod (plugin_load ../bin/hpb_bot2) while at the main menu, not in game. Then start your server and try to add bots.

Ok I got it working, the key was, inputting "plugin_load ..\bin\HPB_Bot2" at the menu screen and then, after the map has loaded, type in "sv_cheats 1" and the addbot commands. Is there an .ini file I can create to save me from having to retype/input this everytime I boot up TF2? great job Cheeseh..

In your tf/cfg folder

looking in "..team fortress 2\tf\cfg" and no autoexec file, there is "config.cfg", "config_arena.cfg", and .cfg files for all different classes (ie: spy, pyro, engineer etc).

Make a text file with...

plugin_load "..\bin\HPB_Bot2"

...and save it as autoexec.cfg in "team fortress 2\tf\cfg".

And bam, it should load when you start Team Fortress 2.
You still have to turn on cheats though.
And don't bother putting sv_cheats "1" in the file 'cause it doesn't work.

Alternatively, you could try right clicking on Team Fortress 2, then go to "Properties > Set Launch Options", then type this into the box:

-window -noborder -novid +plugin_load ../bin/hpb_bot2

This does the following;

Windowed Mode = Running in windowed mode allows you to instantly alt+tab.
No Border = Removes the blue border from around the window. (Makes it now look like full screen)
No Vid = No intro' videos. (Get to the menu faster)
plugin_load ../bin/hpb_bot2 = Loads the plugin automatically.
