Official TF2 Bots soon, maybe? Options

So, I decided to email Robin Walker about the bot interface for TF2... and, well, we might get lucky in the future; unless he was lying, of course.

Here is the email I sent to Robin:

Hi Robin

First of all - thanks for taking time to read this email, I'm gonna
jump straight to it:

So - the reason I am writing this, is because I love my bots. No, not
aimbots - I mean AI bots. Bots provide a way for more players to enjoy
the game; while I can play online, at times I cannot due to many
different reasons:

~ No Internet access.
~ Slow Internet.
~ Someone else using the Internet.

And many people I know will not play online for various reasons:

~ Immature kids...
~ Hacks.

And, of course, Team Fortress 2 wouldn't be very fun by myself running
around in an empty server.

There is currently a bot mod known as RCBot, here:

RCBot adds reasonably good bots - but they are still quite buggy, and
sometimes unplayable; but yes, they are better than none.

So I'm wondering - why haven't you guys added bots into the game yet?
I don't see any reason not to.

Maybe you don't need to - because of Omni-Bot. I have been waiting for
over a year for Valve to release the bot-interface, so we can have
Team Fortress 2 bots. You may want to read these in order:

So where is this bot-interface? I've been waiting over a year - should
I just stop waiting, will it never come?

It's not only me - many people want bots, and if the game had bots all
those people could enjoy it.

So what do you guys think we'll get? Official bots, or maybe just the bot interface? Something else?

I remember specific things related to port from DOD to DOD Soruce.And theres other things i don't feel the need to explain thank you.Until we here anything officialy from Valve in public i regard it as a myth.I'm very happy with RC2bot it's excellent effort.

No need as it's pretty much known many communities wide.I'm not going to get any further into this discussion because my focus is having fun with Rc2bot possibly making waypoints later.

I had a look around these "many communites" wide and couldn't find anything significant - can you please link us to some sources?

Yep, "he who alleges must prove" is the way I like to put it.

In 2 minutes with google I found a few sketchy "promises":

* More Portal (not yet, but kinda)
* HL2 EP3 would be out about 12 months after EP2 (lol)
* to support L4D1 (according to L4D1 players)

Also did they ever promise something like never offering paid DLC on the PC, because I remember there was a bit of a stink when they added a DLC interface to Steam. Well that hasn't been broken yet, right?

I think that was only for Valve's games. There are some games on Steam that have DLC that you have to pay for (Killing Floor, The Maw, and Fear 2 are some examples IIRC).

Also (back on topic), anyone remember the update pages for the "classless update"? Some of the pages had hidden links and on of the hidden links led to a page that had a fake newspaper page talking about a new "RO-BOT". I'm not sure if this means actual bots for the game, a new feature/weapon, or just random silliness.
