Just letting everyone know... dodbits.com went through an upgrade and there is a sticky up there that had broken links.
That just got fixed. This post is now edited and corrected. http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index....st=0#entry15464 In those links there are a lot of new pages on dodbits for running RCBot2 and DoD:S. If you read that page before 7th Oct 2023, please see that sticky for new content. Cheers. INsane |

Hi Insane,
Nice upgrade of dodbits, it looks good. I like that you have a complete guide to set up a LAN server. I have wanted to do that for this game, for a long time... I haven't been active here for a year now, I hope to get back to RCbot sometime, by early next year. |

Same for me on inactive, I had family member issues from 2021 and in May 2023 it mostly got sorted. The websites had to wait. Nice to hear you are coming back  The LAN server (dedicated) guide was way overdue. Next is an all-in-one download of what is in that guide for a listen server. The PC's we have these days handle MetaMod:Source, RCBot2, SourceMod and quite a few plugins, 30 bots. It was not like that in 2013. Rather than building a guide for that, I want to offer one download to install to a local PC, just add the files, make a desktop shortcut (for "-insecure") start the game and with no file editing bind about 3 keys and have SourceMod admin, selected maps with waypoints, set config's for the maps with balanced bots (class and amount) and around 6 special plugins for fun modes, gun game, jetpack, parachute, weapon mods. It will be aimed for the person who just wants a single player (listenserver) and up to 30 bots. Install, 2-10 minutes of set up, play. Just one or two things to sort out and hope to release that soon. I'll post here once tested properly. |
