Hi Septien,
Ummm, heh heh, thanks for the waypoint offer .. Yeah there is a space limit for new members of 64k, I think. If you have anything taking up space other than waypoints on the forums, you might want to remove that in favor of waypoints? Also, you can, create a seperate login to the rcbot website, add the waypoint to the waypoints page there, then link it to the forum thread here. Thats what i would recommend. Evenually i will start moving my wayponts there. It has a 100k size limit per file/waypoint..... Unlimited number of waypoints too... max [edit] also, you only need to include the rcw, not the rcbot tmp files such as rcb, etc... [edit2] yep, members of the waypointers group do get more forum storage... but here is something i wrote a short while ago about the website storage... QUOTE If you are running out of space on your forum storage (i've noticed you started hosting waypoints offsite), you might want to put your waypoints on the rcbot main website, waypoints page. Then they will be here permanent, i think it gets archived and is more secure than the forums, is what cheeseh said a while back... I did it once so far, and linked to the waypoint from the forums too, it works great. When I start bumping that storage limit here, thats where i'm putting my waypoints. and also, they can be deleted by you, if you need to update them, and it's a 100k size limit per waypoint/file, but unlimited storage. It's easy to use, but you need to create a seperate login from the forums. Probably the only down side to it is there is no download counter, I kinda like to have that feed back, especially on my svencoop & natural selections waypoints, so i can see what users like... If nesessary , I can pm you an email address, and i will put it up there for you, but it will have my login name attached to the file name, not yours..... |

Thank you so much Madmax2,
I did as you suggested. I hope you enjoy this map, its awesome and the bots behave flawlesly! Actually, even for a real player its quite a challenge to climb those hills but then again bots excel on doing the task in a very natural manner. This map is quite big and very competitive, actually after watching them play for 30 mins both teams had 2 wins each. On a side note, I did add some sniper prone waypoints but they dont seem to work well, perhaps they are still on beta? Cheers Septien |

Hey Septien,
No problem, glad i could help. As for the sniper prone wpts, cheeseh is aware of a bug and has fixed it, so I think they will prone on sniper wpts correctly, with the next bot release... I got the wpt, thanks ... Just a note... you only need to include the rcw, all the other files will regenerate. Your zip file size would of been about 18k, not 63k. the vis file took the most space at 38k compressed... Best regards, max |

Btw, in regards to unreachable waypoints... could it be that if they are too close to a flag or capture point or even linked to a waypoint that's nearby... bots wont try to capture that particular flag? it happened on the dod_hill_classic so I got rid of them. And for this map I was quite picky on their location not too close to flags etc... Also I think snipers and machineguns give priority to aim at unreachable waypoints rather than their updated yaw, could this be? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Septien |

oops, my bad, i ment the visibility(vis) file which is the rcv... yep, all those files are bot temporary storage, and will be regenerated the first time the bot loads the rcw...

Any insight will be greatly appreciated Well, i havn't noticed a problem with unreachables and the flags not getting capped ? I've got several near the center flag on dod_flash. Actually, i've got unreachables right on top of 3 of the flags! I do notice bots look up at unreachables when passing near, and I do see them shoot up in the air sometimes, like the bandito's do to celebrate , ... I think maybe i've seen them shoot rockets at them instead of targets, you could be right about that?... |
