Thanks! Today I tried to waypoint dod_real_arena. Its a small map, much similar to dod_orange_gunna_arena.. I don't know, how well I do it, but I liked it) But I have one little problem: bots do not go up the ladder and don't capture central point( Attached File(s) dod.rar ( 9.63k ) Number of downloads: 245 |

Ok now my soar knee is starting to get better finally got online and check things out and boy what a surprise with the new beta!
Wow they do sprint now on dods but much better if there's some sprint wpts which I exploited by using a sprint plugin set high so everyone can sprint as long as they want and no slow down to regain stamina, that really made the bots move way more faster now, always! ...so cool and refreshing!!! As if I'm watching real humans now! So some few more enhancement on the sprint code the bot is definitely on the way out the beta stage. AWESOME WORK CHEESEH!!! btw I'm using the ExtendedStamina (Allows player to sprint longer than normal) plugin for those who wanna try it to make the bots sprint longer, no slow down and so on. http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=183846 Also here's some demos just to check how their speed looked like. Just make another copy of dod_anzio.bsp and rename it to dod_anzio_fast.bsp for the demo to work. Their always sprinting here but the actual sprinting animation or the one that shows their holding down the rifle/mg is seldom use. http://www.mediafire.com/?bs7v434bv0sfvhb |

Yeah, mt.bikes, that will do it... @Emotional I PMed you about dod_real_arena & autowaypointing. You can start a topic in the waypoints forum for that map if you want to? max |

Is it my imagination , or are the bots using multiple routes better (multi-pathing)? I've been tweaking & testing flash, and it seems they are covering the map better than before. Also, snipers seem to hold better in the axis sniper perch without being forced to stay?

Also, snipers seem to hold better in the axis sniper perch without being forced to stay? well yeah sniping has been slightly improved, but only their aiming and waiting a little bit. If they see an enemy they'll wait a bit longer for the same enemy to come back out, and look in or around the same place they saw the last enemy. Although I can't remember if that would have been available already in the last release I don't think there were any improvements to path finding however! But it might depend on your rcb file which is made and updated automatically, or maybe it was deleted and bots had to make a new one . Rcb files put a value on each waypoint for each team (a danger value), bots will take routes with lower danger values depending on the situation. They will defend waypoints with higher danger values |

Hi Cheeseh,
Is there a way to adjust the spacing between waypoints with the autowaypoint system? For more open areas & big maps, it drops a lot of waypoints. I played around with the rcbot_wpt_pathdist setting, and found they are spaced under 250 and a setting of about 300 works good for the current spacing. I like the default setting of 400 for manual waypointing, as I usually space the waypoints out more than autowaypoint does. [edit] Oh, one other question about autowaypointing with autopaths enabled. Emotional has done a few waypoints with autowaypointing, and i've been checking some of them, and there are a lot of near vertical paths, or paths from the ground to a higher place. Probably from jumping down from a high place (window), & some wpts/paths are mid-air. Will this cause any problems for rcbot2, effect their performance some way? They seem to handle it better than rcbot1 would, at least i didn't notice them trying to climb the walls too much. rcbot1 would usually only autopath in the down direction, i think? Is there anything you can do about the bots not seeing through glass windows (dod:s)? If not, would it be possible to have the mg's pop off a quick burst when they can't mount at an mg wpt? Not sure what could be done with the sniper, unless you just have them waste a round at every sniper location? There are just so many good mg & sniper locations behind glass, the bots can't do anything until the glass is broke, then they work good... Every time I start a new rcw, i can't decide what to do at the glass windows. I waypointed around some, but not all of them... Thanks, max |

yeah bots tracelines are blocked on breakable glass windows as what I've noticed on dod_anzio the one facing the bridge hence they can't shoot at it or through it...if that can be remedied would be nice but if not it's ok.

Okay it seems to be a bug in VC++ where nesting preprocessor definitions didn't work. I've changed the code now and it seems to work now, do you need HPB_Bot2o.dll? I put it here http://filebase.bots-united.com/index.php?...view&id=461 This one is truly better and works on both steampipe and non-steampipe as I prefer the rcbot2 folder on it's old location. I'm starting to like the steampipe version of DODS now hehe much easier to organize custom files and some newer SM plugins only works on this version. It also seems to support multi core cpu's, I think. |

for the moment you can just add a breakable waypoint on the outside, then bots will fire at it with a bazooka! I'm a bit late replying, but it works, not sure why I didn't think to try it before? old age i guess ? ... There are a lot of glass windows in dod_beaverville in a small area. I tried breakable wpts on the inside, it still seems to work, but bots won't break the windows from the inside, though I thought I saw it happen once? Seems they won't when too close. So i moved them back outside the windows... Also, i removed some of the breakable wpts. It seems if there are to many breakable wpts in a small area, to close together, bots may not hit the one you want them to, at least quickly (to many targets I guess, breakables & enemies). So I'm only putting them on the ones I really need them to break... QUOTE This one is truly better and works on both steampipe and non-steampipe as I prefer the rcbot2 folder on it's old location. Yes, it's good to have the option of either location for the rcbot2 folder. Would be nice to hear some feedback on the new version from some of the dedi users, Steamcmd users, etc... I guess it's working ok for them... |

@max...guess it's much more convenient for them dedi users especially those who just rents them having rcbot2 and dods folder contained in one convenient folder.

I've built a mac OS X version of 0.76. You can find it here. Note that the file name is different (lib prefix) from the LINUX version, so you will need to rename the entry in the rcbot2.vcd file or rename the file accordingly.

Problems setting up Rcbots on DOD:S Dedicated Server (Windows 7) using srcds. Plugin won't run while in console, plugin_load ../bin/HPB_Bot2. This might have something to do with the references to Orange box in the installation instructions. As I understand it orange box is no longer being used. Can some one please give some specific instructions on how to install Rcbot2 on a Dedicated DOD:S Server using srcds? Thanks!

If you're using a .bat file to run your server, edit the .bat and put this line of code in: +plugin_load bin/HPB_Bot2 If you're opening it with srcds, I suggest putting this in a server config (don't include the + symbol). |
