What's the best way to waypoint doors that have access to both sides but need to be welded to open? Open's later on both sides ? What about holes you can fall in but can't get out of stay close waypoints as far from the hole as you can get them?

Thats the way I do the doors...
And as for the holes they can fall in but can't get out, it depends where it is. If it's in some inconsequential spot, just don't waypoint there so they can't get stuck. If it's in the path of the main pathways of the map, and somewhat unavoidable, or they get stuck in it all the freakin' time, I usually throw the maps into the unbotable pile... I do the same for maps with a lot of elevators! And I've been known to throw em in the pile for having doors that have buttons that the bots refuse to push... C'mon dammit, it's the future, the doors should open when we even think about starting to go towards them! |

For weldable doors, I would use a standerd waypoint on the marine side of the door with another standerd waypoint right at the weld point and an opens later waypoint for the alien side of the door. If the door just opens at a later time like on siege maps then an opens later waypoint on both sides of the door are in order.
Now about those holes, just try your best the waypoint cleanly around them or if it's really close quarters then try crouch waypoints to slow them down so they follow the waypoint path exactly. If you can't waypoint around the hole then the map is not waypointable. |

And with the weldable things... I don't exactly know why, and I don't know if its cause I put 2 opens later things on em.. but on ... god what map is it...
I think it's ns_caged, theres the two weldable wall things, and the bots CONSTANTLY get stuck in the freakin' elevator at the ventillation hive.. so I had all 4 of my marine bots trying to get up the elevator... the very instant I welded open one of the walls, they ditched the elevator and came charging through the spot where the weldable walls were... so now on the map the first thing I do is go get a welder and pop open those walls. |

I'll have to start grabbing your custom map waypoints Grunter, I finally got a high-bandwidth webserver ($3 a month for 800 mb/unlimited bandwidth, with multitiered 100mbps connections!) so I'm gonna start hosting a plethora of custom maps!
-edit- hey! They're all zipped in that zip! |
