barney / scientist waypoints

IPB Image

You may add an important waypoint at the barney/scientist an put in the script with the barney/scientist entity index e.g. "if distance > 200 then complete" the bots will only go there if the barney/scientist is nearby (but this must be scripted).

cover waypoints

IPB Image

add waypoints that are round corners or crouched behind sandbags that aren't visible to waypoints where enemies may be.

ladders

IPB Image

Add a normal "run up" waypoint , the path of which is 90 degrees to the wall/ladder

platforms

IPB Image

(from right to left). platform waypoints may have a jump waypoint before. When bot is on the platform, the bot waits until it reaches the net platform waypoint before progressing. In this case there is another jump waypoint after the second platform waypoint, meaning the bot will jump off the platform.

unreachable waypoints

Unreachable waypoints help bots know where to take cover

IPB Image

Put unreachable waypoints where enemies are that won't have normal waypoints, such as snipers, turrets, enemies up high etc.

Another example is to have unreachables where enemy helicopters may fly.

Jump

IPB Image

Always have a normal 'run up' waypoint towards a jump waypoint so that the path is in the same direction as the jump. In this case the distance between the jump and landing waypoint is important, if too close they may hit the wall, if too far they may land on the floor. There are normal fall back waypoints that have paths back to the run up waypoint if they miss the jump.

Grapple

IPB Image

The first waypoint is a 'wait' waypoint, which makes bots wait and aim. The second waypoint is the grapple waypoint at the grapple location. The third waypoint is the landing waypoint.

Opens later

IPB Image

In this case the blocking door opens making the bots able to move from right waypoint to the left openslater waypoint. When the door is closed bots will know they won't be able to pass through the door. If the door also blocks the opposite way then the normal waypoint should also be an 'openslater' waypoint. Too many opens later waypoints may decrease performance
