I will be attempting to redo some of the default NS maps for NS 2.0 and RCbot 1.2 in hopes to improve navigation performance. Please try these and give me some feed-back.

Here is ns_tanith. I redid this one from the ground up. There are far less chances for the bots to get stuck and much smoother navigation. Only problem spot I found is the ladder near reactor room.
Please let me know what you think. This post has been edited by Sandman[SA]: Jan 26 2004, 10:33 AM Attached File(s) ns_tanith.rcw ( 6.66k ) Number of downloads: 19 |

Thanks I'll always take good news. Back on topic. ns_veil was a huge mess and I had to start from scratch on this one. I can't find any trouble areas on this map now. Also has more coverage and much smoother navigation then the released version. Any comments are welcome. Here is ns_lost. Nothing much needed, just some tweeking for ladder update and cleaned up some areas. Should play even better now.

ns_caged is here and should play reasonably well. A LOT of detail went into waypointing this map as it should also support proper "wall_stick", "fly" and "lift" use. Any feedback on this map will be welcome input.
[edit] found a few nasty ladder bugs and fixed them. also ( using rcb 1.3 ) found the marines ( with jetpacks ) were using the wall_stick waypoints to fly into and move about in the vents but the aliens still can not climb walls [/edit] This post has been edited by Sandman[SA]: Jan 21 2004, 03:37 AM Attached File(s) ns_caged.rcw ( 9.61k ) Number of downloads: 23 |

Ok, seems this forum keeps corrupting ZIP files so I will be using rcw files from now on. Please dubble check my earlyer posts to find the rcw file replacements.
