dod:s added breakable waypoint for DOD:S (a rocket or grenade is required to break a wall nearby)

Hey this version just adds the noallies/noaxis type on breakables

bots wont shoot unless they have at least one more explosive in their inventory

and they wont shoot it unless they are a little distance away to stop them from blowing themselves up

this is no problem, you just need to load a map first before running any bot commands, you can't add a bot when no map is running!

try changing rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods in your bot config.ini or in console before adding any bots

try

rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods 417

or

rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods 415

then add bots to see if it crashes

keep changing it slightly until it doesn't crash, then keep it at that value. It seems the linux version needs a different value. then tell us the value that works.

Hi Cheeseh,

I took the time to give your new rcbot2 0.75 r2 a try today and yes!, bots will definitely shoot at breakable wpts according to the noallies/noaxis tag. I did notice that not only the rocket class will fire at breakable wpts but other classes too (maybe those that have grenades) thou they will also shoot at it with their guns etc. but its way better than before where everyone would shoot at it and almost run out of ammunition etc.

However, I still see rockets missing the target by a large margin. I don't know if bots' AIM SKILL in the launcher plays a big role on this or does RCBOT_AIMSMOOTING 1 or RCBOT_SKILL 0.6 in the config file? I haven't tweaked any profiles or bots, I just have been using rcbot2 with its default settings.

If you could help rocket bots aim without missing the target... it would be great!!! or if it could be controlled on the aim skill or config.ini settings... that would do the trick too.

Anyway, thank you for all the effort.

Your rcbot2 is the best by far!

- EDITED- I did go and tweaked the config.ini file and the bot profiles to improve bots' aim_skill but didn't help!

I tried rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods 415 and it didn't crash, you could try that

Yeah I didn't make any aiming changes for this version, I thought I'd leave that till later since I had some big problems especially with the installer and launcher so I thought I'd make a full release with the changes I'd made. To be honest it's difficult finding any time these days to do anything significant!

The rcbot_skill and rcbot_aimsmoothing is deprecated and no longer used however each bot profile has their own skill

Yeah bots that have guns with explosives attachments will also shoot, but they will just randomly press primary attack or secondary attack

I prefectly get the picture of you not having time! Having a baby changes everything!!! I have a 19 month baby boy so I know what you mean.

Anyway, if you find the time it would be great if you could improve the accuracy of rocket bots when shooting at breakable wpts.

try adding a bot first, don't join until bots work. From the look at the log you've just joined without adding any bots beforehand so it might just be doing the same crash

also follow the advice here:

Add "-debug" to the /usr/dod/srcds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem

and let me know about any debug log that it creates

Maybe it's a stupid question, but where should be the debug log? I have a dod/logs folder, but there is a standard log files only.

I use the following command:

I use the following scenario:
1. start the server

If I'm connecting to the server with a human player, the server is running well, until rcbotd addbot command

If I addbot before connecting the server is crashed when a human connected.

hmm is anyone able to debug the dll on linux and breakpoint at 0xe9dfbb80 (offset 0x000A8BC0) I guess ? Because I need to know which line in the code in the linux version it is calling in the bot

BTW sometimes I've noticed the voffsets on that website are actually not up to date and not sure if it's actually correct.

I can add bots ok with a different offset on an older DOD:S but I haven't tried connecting to it myself, I simply don't have the tools to do this I'm afraid

Hi Cheeseh,

How are you?

I hope you are doing great with the new family!

Anyway, I was thinking that perhaps you dont need to fix or improve the rocket bots' aiming... perhaps if you can tweak the distance when they can start shooting at the breakable wpt and make it way shorter so that they can only shoot it from like 10-30 feet away (maximun distance before shooting)... and maybe you can have them shoot at it even if they are too close and die from the explosion since if they are succesful they will die only once but then they will not have died in vain. (minimun distance starting from 1 feet)

If you could tweak it and let me test it... would be great.

I hope it doesnt require alot of effort on your behalf.

last month I didn't play in DoD:S, and when today I went to my home, I have tried to play DoD:S, but after add first bots (rcbot_addbot) game stopped and crashed sad.gif New update in DoD:S? How to fix it?

edit the config.ini and look for the line...

rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods 416


then change 416 to 417 or 418 until it works.

config.in is located here...

Hmm, on 416 and 418 - crashed, on 417 - works,, but I have next problem: automatic weapons (Stg44, Mp40, Thompson, BAR, and C-96 - mmm, when I shoot in the wall - all nice, but when I shoot in the people, they stop shooting on 0.2 - 0.4 sec and then again shoots( its very uncomfortable( what the problem?
