who cares about the guns this isnt realy a king of the hill it refers to fort between bases.

That really looks like it could be a fun map but I just could not get the bots threw it successfully. I tried wb also and they used most of the doors but they still screewed it up and got stuck when they got to the battle field and the retractable bridge. I tried my best but i'm afraid that this map is just to technical for bots to handle alone.

Hey kiddies todays word is "KeyWord"

example

to technical for bots to handle "ALONE".

what tool do you use for waypointing

also is there a way to have the bots wait for the bridge to come out cuz i can open all the stuff.

ohmy.gif a wait for lift waypoint may do the trick but they wait a maximum of only 10 seconds.. incase they think theyre stuck

1) Yeah, that's right. Bots can't handle this kind of map alone. Administrators will be up to thier eye balls, fishing the bots out of trouble areas constantly. I'm sure even you can understand that, right?

3) Sure but the the problem is, the bots don't wait long enough. They wait for ten seconds at a wait_for_lift waypoint but the thing is, that bridge takes over twenty seconds to open and there is no way out once you fall in the pit unless your a human playing as a skulk, lerk, fade or jetpacker.


Look, I tried my best with every trick I know with the current release of both rcbot and whichbot to get them to reach "any" destination but in my opinion, I don't think that there currently is an NS bot that can run this technical of a map reliably. If ANYONE feels that they can waypoint this map so that the bots will travel the map end to end with at least an 80% chance of reliability then be my guest. I can't get that kind of results with a map like this.

1) note to self invent command line

Wait_for_bridge



2) how bout have the waypoints make the rine bots go ingto defencive poistions (like doggystyle j/king) and have the aliens attack thats still fun kinda a offence defence type senario and have them follow my orders that could work for them to cross the bridge can you do that because im thinking of a defence stratgy for that map ands i need aliens to do all out in attack and rines to be completeky defensive
can you do that?

i'm afraid waypoints do not change the way bots "play".
Maybewhichbot would be effective as an offensive team ? If you want bots to follow your orders, just set the wait_for_orders to "1", so that the bots obey you and only you. you make them wait, you open the bridge, then you re(enter the cc to tell them to go across biggrin.gif

Acctually i don't know at all what this maps looks like so i may be wrong

I'll have a go at it! since I've got nothing better to do atm.

Might work if I add several wait_for_lift waypoints. have one at each point on the retractable bridge, will make them wait, move, wait, move etc.

Maybe we could contact the author of this map and have it altered slightly to be more bot friendly? Make the bridge perminate and have the doors open when you touch a trigger_multiple instead of use a func_button. Just a thought.

And while we're at it, have the author put in the info_map entity and compile this map with the nshulls.txt file? rolleyes.gif
