The readme of rcbot says that rcbot works with natural selection 3.0!
Today the fourth update for 3.0 came out and so i would like to know if it still should work with it? |

yeah, NS 3.0 beta 3 if there is a compatible metamod dll for ns beta 4, use the rcbot metamod version and it will work

Ok, you got rcbot correct but you got metamod wrong. Metamod should go here: E:\Steam\SteamApps\nrg_balrock@web.de\half-life\nsp\addons\Metamod |

This was taken from the metamod change-log:
And you should find the metamod.dll here:
If your not sure what $gamedir is, it's the mod of choice root directory. For example, you want to install metamod for NS 3.0, you add the addons folder to your NSP folder so your metamod install would look like this:
Same thing go's for other mods like CounterStrike where you put the addons folder in the cstrike directory and Team Fortress Classic where you put the addons folder in the tfc directory. You really should pay a visit to metamod.org and have a read. It will help you to understand what metamod does and how it's used. |

Well i just know that metamod is like, lets say a router.
And the metamod page just looks so uninteresting And the matter is that i will soon have no internet anymore and i just wanted some bots for natural selection so that i can play on a bit But now i know what to do because i wasnt sure wheather to put the whole dir into the files like E:\steam\steamapps\..... |

hmmm ok this is strange:
When i connect to a server ns doesnt crash and i can even use the meta list command. But when i create a server it crashes. And when i put / instead of \ in the plugins.ini of metamod the meta list command doesnt even work then. |

there must be something obvious you're doing wrong ... like simply putting a bad path to the dll files

Strange indeed, very. Now this server your connecting to, is it yours or someone elses? If it's someone elses server then you absolutly MUST have rcon (remote control) access to use any metamod commands. Changing the / to the \ in the plugins.ini does not have any impact on metamod itself, only the other plugins metamod is trying to load. It sounds to me like you may have made a mistake in the liblist.gam file or the metamod.dll may still be in the wrong directory. Try removing everything from the metamod/plugins.ini and start your server again and post the results of your findings. |

Here is my NS 2.01 liblist.gam for metamod.
The only part of this you need to worry about are the 3 gamedll lines. If you only want plain rcbot support without metamod then just make some changes to the gamedll lines so they look like this:
Notice how I removed the 2 // from the rcbot line and added 2 // to the metamod line. |
