I have RCBot2 installed on a dedicated Windows XP SP3 based TF2 server for now.

I am using RCBot2_051_Beta

The server shows:
version
Protocol version 15
Exe version 1.0.7.0 (tf)
Exe build: 17:01:11 Sep 14 2009 (3964) (440)

The server starts without issue and I can play with the bots in a map.

However, I am wanting to play with setting up waypoints for maps and get familiar with this.
So, I load the plugin and no errors are reported.

I am following the steps in the thread
"Tutorials: Waypointing for RCBot2 - Team Fortress 2"

I load a map and then type the following two commands:
* rcbotd waypoint on
(no issue here)

But when I type this command:
* rcbotd pathwaypoint on

I get an application error

---------------------------
srcds.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at "0x010d1328" referenced memory at "0x19302d34". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Maybe I searched on the wrong keywords or I am missing this in someway - but I am not finding anything on this. Any ideas why this is happening?

What else might you need to troubleshoot this error?

you cannot waypoint on a dedicated server, using dedicated commands, it makes no sense to the plugin.

You need to be using the client as a listen server, and just need to use the command rcbot , not rcbotd,

the plugin needs to know who to draw waypoints to, when you use rcbotd, there is no player information given, when you use "rcbot" command it always gives player information, so you need to set up access commands in accessclients.ini if you want to try it this way. But I will recommend making waypoints on listen servers

Thanks Cheeseh,

I had a few more learning hurdles to get over but I am now able to work with way points.
I read Geralt's guide on waypoints and I am experimenting with that now.

I am still getting that error at other points but no longer with the waypoint mapping.

Whether I am playing with a dedicated server or a listen server, if I add the bots, at some seemingly random time the error will occur.

I found the below and will be following what I can in regards to it to help:

'How to resolve "Memory cannot be read" error, If you get this error try this(NOT SURE)' - Aug 29 2009, 09:21 AM

If I have any questions on that, I will follow up.

I am having fewer but still having them.
I need to test to see if any specific bot types are at play in this (Eng?).

Beyond that, what can I do to help in providing more info as to what is happening?
