With an increasing number of people struggling to install RCBot2 I've created an installer for windows listen server. Download here:
http://rcbot.bots-united.com/downloads/RCBot2Installer.zip extract and run setup.exe This installs the latest version from my GitHub to all three mods (Tf2/dod:s/hl2 dm) and updates all hook info automatically as long as you are connected to internet when installing. Remember the bot offsets may differ between TF2 and DOD:S so it comes with a MOD changer in the config folder when installed. HL2DM will always be installed correctly. (IF YOU DON'T DO THE ABOVE THE SERVER MAY CRASH!) Note: If you encounter crashes on cp/pl maps please follow the instructions below: 1. disable auto bot joining 2. change map to cp_dustbowl 3. after the map starts do not join , just enter the command "rcbot debug mstr_offset_search" 4. it will give you a number, write it down 5. in console type "rcbot_const_mstr_offset <number>" with the number 6. now you may add bots 7. enter "rcbot_const_mstr_offset <number>" with the number into rcbot2/config/config.ini to make this automatic (or put in autoexec.cfg) Dedicated Server / Linux follow advanced user instructions from Robocop http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2099 |

Well, finally I solved the problem.
Conditions: Win7 x64, i7-3630QM, GT 645M 1gb, 8 gb RAM. Object: (Steam DoD:S + Rcbot2 1.0) & (No-Steam DoD:S + Rcbot2 1.0) Problem: When any version starts, they crashing after loading menu. Аdditionally, Steam version after crashing didn't allow launch DoD:S again. Although I interrupted still worked after crash hl2.exe through ctrl-alt-delete, but in Steam DoD:S still was as "Running". Even after restart Steam, DoD:S still was as "Running", and only reboot can helped me run DoD:S again - but only until the next crash. Solution (tested only on Win7x64): Start menu -> Search program and files -> regedit.exe Regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Mircrosoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> GRE_Initialize In GRE_Initialize (not LargeFont or SmallFont) find DisableMetaFiles. His type must conform with your Windows - DWORD for 32-bit, QWORD for 64-bit. Data must be 0. If parameter DisableMetaFiles is absent, need to create it with appropriate system depth, DWORD or QWORD and data 0. Close regedit, reboot computer and all must works correctly. Have a good game! |
