Update: fixed path going to a non "opens later" waypoint in another area near spawn causing bots to go round in circles....

yeh i did, i got rcbot waypoint delete bound to 8 and then they dont move

Heh, this thread is sure old blink.gif , here is an update.... smile.gif

Here is an updated/modified waypoint for shattered (sc4.6). The original rcw was from the rcbot_beta_full.zip (Cheeseh's rcw i believe... thanks man).

I originally started modifying this rcw a long time ago, on sc2.1, to many changes to list them all. I recently reworked some areas to make it work better with the newest version of RCbot & sc4.6. It should work well for sc4.5 & sc4.7 too, hopefully.

RCbots can navigate the whole map with player help, in a couple places. They will use all but one shortcut (spawn room).

[edit 1-22-14] Revision2 rcw works fine in sc4.7 with the FEB 2013 rcbot release, but I found a problem with the bots in sc4.8. they are having problems getting thru the subway train. I havn't fully checked it yet, but it may need fixing for sc4.8...Rev2 rcw is mainly for sc4.6/4.5 and sc3.0, but works with sc4.7 too.

[edit 2-12-14] Get Revision3 rcw for sc4.8(4.7) see post 9 below for details...

[Edit 5-30-14] I packaged the Rev2 & Rev3 rcw's in to one pack. No changes to the rcw's, just a re-pack:

Uploaded a new rcw (rev2) smile.gif . Reworked a couple areas to make the waypoint more compatable with sc3.0 on a Halflife v1.1.1.0 CD install, & work better in sc4.6/steam (mainly elevator ladders & upper fan shaft). See the included readme.txt for more info...

[Release] Updated Shattered Waypoint [Revision3] for Sven-coop 4.8(4.7)

The main reason for this update, was bots were unable to make it through a few areas of the map with the latest bots and sc4.8. They can now play the map again, almost as well as before... The rcw was edited to work best for sc4.8. The rcw was tested in sc4.7, and it works ok, but I'm not sure if this rcw or the Rev2 rcw works better for sc4.7? I'm sure the changes I had to make won't work in sc3.0, so use the Rev2 rcw for sc3.0.

There are a couple places bots have some trouble with ladders, but they do manage ok. The first is the short ladder in the broken elevator, they can get bunched up sometimes, but it's unavoidable, and they will sort out quickly. The other place is more of a problem, the 2nd vent with a ladder in it. Bots can get through the vent, but often hang up at the bottom, temporarily stuck to the ladder. It's a difficult ladder for the bots, but it was working much better with previous versions of svencoop/rcbots. In fact, with this rcw in sc4.7, bots have far less trouble at this vent ladder. Much of the problems here, in sc4.8, are due to bots trying to pick up dropped weapons, blocking the vent. And bots with HMG's often get stuck on the ladder, blocking the vent. Other bots can jump on the ladder ok, as long as no other bots/player touches them. Usually stuck bots will start climbing, or back away from ladder in 20 to 60 seconds, even with other bots blocking their way. Just like players, bots with HMG's can not jump, and they can not fire the HMG from a ladder.

Mainly because of the problems at the 2nd vent ladder, i recommend no more than 3 bots until you go through the train to the lower areas, such as the canals or fans. I did most testing with 4 bots, 3 bots should work better at the 2nd vent...

Other than the 2nd vent ladder, bots work fairly well, like making some difficult jumps at the big fans, etc... See the readme for more details on the problem areas and some suggestions...

Partial list of rcw changes for sc4.8:

Reworked/adjusted the wpts at these areas...

1. Spawn room door (one way, exit only, to reduce looping back thru spawn room for medkits)
(bots will open the shortcut door for the spawn room, just a little slower than before)
2. Elevator short ladder (minor tweaks)
3. 2nd vent (major problems, bottle neck/jams at bottom, still not perfect but works ok)
4. Train short ladder fixed for sc4.8, bots jump over ladder now, minor tweaks in rooms under train
5. Lower fan jumps reworked, works about the same as before, good & bad periods of success & failure, it's all in the timing and when they arrive at the fan...
6. Upper fan/room tweaks
7 Lower fan room ladder change

Added 2 more objective/EOL wpts, one for bots to open the spawn room shortcut door, and one additional EOL to attract them to the final area faster...

The Rev3 rcw is for sc4.8 or sc4.7. The Rev2 rcw is for sc3.0/4.6/4.7 (4.5 was never tested, but it may work ok?)
