Bots doing good enough! :-)
No blind sniper or mg's on the bunkers!



Map related bugs...

Bots sometimes gets stuck on the side of the landing craft.
...and the allies are pinkish pruple-red hehe.


Map suggestion for full bot compatibility:

Where the flag is, is where the auto-generated capture wpt is also so...
hope CharlestonN would reconsider just putting the flag inside the bunker so bots
can easily cap it. I've made a work around to that but it gonna be much better if the flag is inside at ground level.

@Septien...actually I could have wpted the map upon release but I was waiting for further bug reports of the map and waiting for b2 but I thought this might help CharlestonN check the gameplay further when there's not enough people playing also RL took me away a little hehe I was kinda a little rusty after weeks of not doing it but tnkfully my memory is still sharp enough for an old guy like me LoL!

@madmax2...yeah the axis are always on the bunkers shooting those poor stucked allies so they get refreshed on a new clipless spawn points. Well I just shoot them myself when I'm nearby hehe. It will be fix on b2 according to CHarles as well the purple players, ambient missing sounds and hopefully he'll relocate that elevated flag as well.

Allies once cap all the flags in perfect timing I mean all 3 remaining goals captured at the same time haha wish I had demoed that but it was a 10 allies vs 8 axis battle. Reverse that and the axis always wins.

This map I think favors the axis as they can re-capture the flags and they seems to always score higher even if allies always captures all goals most of the time on a balanced team players.

Really cool though axis spawning in a spread out manner on their perfect shooting spots to spawn rape the allies on the beach hehe but respawn further up or inside their barracks once the fence and doors are bombed I think and allies respawn much nearer inside once they capture some flags, just perfect!

Anyway have fun guys and plz do report back if there's anything needed to further improve the wpt as well the map itself.

That sounds great Genmac! I did play it just for a minute last night but saw the purple-redish allies getting stuck on the boats... so I didnt play it for long but managed to see how you made a workaroud the flags not being in the capture zone and it works. It will be great if that can be tweaked in a B2 map version.

Anwyway, great job so far Genmac, I am downloading your new updates!

Well, i played WN71 last nite, cool map smile.gif ... But it ran like a slug, in the beach area, on my crappy PC with 11 bots. Its not the only custom map i've had that problem with (titanic was another). I might have to set up a dedi LAN server for this & a few other dods maps, too.

It kinda felt like the map time should be longer to me? It seems to end to quickly for the allies. It might be different with people playing though?

Good job on the rcw... The only thing is, the beach defenses felt a bit light to me? The inside defenses were much tougher. I only had 6vs6, so i donno, more axis bots might help that, but my PC won't handle it... I'll play it a few more times and see if it plays any different. Will try to adjust the bot mix a bit, since more bots won't work for me...

@max....you're using the updated version right?
I added more axis only sniper, mg's and defend wpts near the first bunker but sometimes axis would just go inside the base. probably adding no axis wpts within the first perimeter might help so they won't run away and fight more on the beach assault.

I also tried the mg's nest and bunkers above as uni-directional as bots can go there but they can't get out. Since first spawn point waves are placed there so I thought would be nice to keep the axis bots stay there thus making their defense stronger but sometimes they wanna get out already making them un-combative so to speak hehe so edit back the bi-directional paths.

Also during game start sometimes 1 or more allies are clipped on the landing crafts even if their on the middle part. Thought it was some wpt issue so tried putting lots of wpts there still it clips some bots but once killed their spawning ok...so hopefully Charles would do something about that.

Also I forgot to properly tag some wpts hehe, well I'll correct those and some more improvements once the final version of the map is out.

Yeah this map is quite hard on the allies as the axis can recap the flags and the bonus time was only 30 secs for the allies.
I would probably edit those settings like removing the axis can cap option.

Btw Charles updated b1 ...no more purple allies and missing sounds or model files.

Yeah, I was using the R3 waypoint... np, sounds like you are working on improvments for the next map version. Your idea of noaxis wpts in the first perimeter sounds like a good idea for the axis defenses. And the allies will do better when charles fixes the clipping problem, i still would like to see a longer map time though.

I probably won't play this map much because of performance, until i can setup dods dedi on another PC. Hopefully that will fix my performance problems... i didn't get a chance to play it last nite... sad.gif

Hi genmac,

I noticed CharlestonN just uploaded the final version of dod_WN71... Btw, I sure enjoyed your wpts! when I saw those MGs shooting at Allies on the beach, I could imagine your joy!

Anyway, in the end wasnt the flag in the bunker supposed to be moved inside for better capture? It would be great! that way they can capture it easily etc.

Anyway its a great map and the wpts are perfect for it!

Edited: I just downloaded the final version which includes your wpts but I suppose CharlestonN just renamed the dod_wn71_b1.rcw to dod_wn71.rcw but that didnt do the trick! So bots aren't moving. Anyway, if you could upload the final wpts would be GREAT!

Cheeseh will have the capture wpt/flag issue fixed in the next release, so it won't matter about the flag location anymore... smile.gif
[edit] Correction

To load a waypoint with a different name from the map, just type "rcbot waypoint load waypointname" in the console, then just save it again...

Example: rcbot waypoint load dod_wn71_b1, then save it... It will save the waypoint as dod_wn71.rcw .... smile.gif

[edit] you don't need quotation marks on waypointname, and don't need the .rcw extention

[edit2] Oh, thats cool cool.gif, when you load the waypoint I think it automaticlly makes a copy with the new name, I'm sure I didn't save it that time, and there was a new waypoint in the folder smile.gif ...

WOW!!! my dear friend Madmax!!!

I've been great! other than having bought a Wii U and have it bricked before even using it, everything is fine, thanks for asking! How about you? everything ok?

About the next release, that sounds great, I wonder if I will need to update the wpts for dod_hill_classic once thats done, that will be awesome, Iam still waiting for CharlestonN to tweak it once he's finished with a second map which btw I think it would be great for you to make wpts for it since its very similar to the one you did recently (your 1st rcbot2 wpts)

Anyway, thank you for the info for saving the new wpts, Ill give it a try!

Yeah, dod_fuhrung looks like a very nice map, for sure... But when I read about some of the comments on gamebanana (dod_fuhrung_b1) a while back (link above), I chose not to download it? (it sounded like it needed to be optimized better?)... Do you have any links to updated information on the work in progress for dod_fuhrung? Also, the steampowered links for WN71beta have been taken down, do you have any links to a new thread for the final version of WN71? Besides gamebanana?

I've got most all the pathways done in dod_azure and added in all the capture wpts last night. Added bots in for the first time and they took right off capping locations all over the map (6 capture points, with two, 2 map capture locations). I was pleased with that smile.gif ... Still have all the special wpts to add (sniper, mg, defend, etc), and lots of tweaking to do... wink.gif

@Septien
btw, you might want to retest the fortress capture area in hillclassic. With the current rcbot release, it seems the flag doesn't need to have a wpt on it for rcbot to identify capture areas!!! Try removing the flag wpt and setting the correct area on the capture wpt... This seems to work now, but hillclassic is the worst case test... wink.gif

In regards to dod_fuhrung WIP, I have no clue if CharlestoN has already posted one. And as to dod_azure I will be more than happy to give it a try once you are done and give you some feedback.

About the capture/flag fix sounds great, I will try it tonight once I'm back from work.
If I understood correctly, is it already implemented in Rcbot2 0.75 release 2 or a new beta? I ask you because I could still see last night, bots having difficulties capturing the 1st flag in WN71 (final). Perhaps Genmac still wasn't aware of this fix, anyway I'll check tonight with dod_hill_classic which btw I made a last revision update where I improved a couple of things but I'm waiting for CharlestonN to tweak the breakable wall hit zone etc. and then I'll post it hopefully with the capture/flag fix too.

I went ahead and ran some tests on hillclassic, and capture wpts with elevated flags is working much much better, with the current release(Rcbot2 0.75 release 2), but not perfect... I'll post shortly what I did and the results here :
