i. If you downloaded a ".zip" file open the zip file with winzip or other zip compressor utility and extract the .rcw file into
<HALF LIFE FOLDER>/rcbot/waypoints/<MOD FOLDER NAME>/ ii. If you downloaded an ".rcw" file then save it to the same folder above -: Replace <HALF LIFE FOLDER> to the folder where your half-life hl.exe is stored. -: Replace <MOD FOLDER NAME> with the name of the MOD's folder that the MOD is used in. -: Delete the .rcv file that has the same name as the map that the waypoints are for |

It would be extremely helpful to also post the creation process of Waypoints. In the FAQ under
I do not necessarily have acess to this readme all the time, it would be great to have the procedure posted on the website or the forum (it might already be, I don't know). To make this procedure available might even help the development of waypoints. I know that I am kinda hurtin on waypoints for COMBAT standard levels. The only level I have waypoints for is co_angst. I guess for COMBAT Waypoints the rcbot would just need a clever path to the Hive and the the precision ability to accurately kill along with the ability to use COMBAT player resources to a high potential. Do I ask too much? And yes my server is dedicated to NS 3.0B3 COMBAT levels only. These are the map that I am in search for waypoints on (I will also post them under waypoint s request) co_faceoff co_daimos co_kestrel co_rebirth co_core (I think someone here has this) co_ulysses co_pulse Thanks |

Just a question in regards to the rcv files Cheeseh, you said to delete the .rcv file of the same name as the .rcw, is this because the rcv will stay the same as it was before?
Put more simply: the rcv is created after the rcw is introduced in order for bots to find cover etc...etc...if a new rcw file is introduced does the rcv stay true to the original rcw or will it right itself. For example with maps that have changed with the updating of NS, which leaves old .rcw files leading waypoints through walls etc....will the .rcv still be referring to the original .rcw or no? In short (which i prolly should have put first ) do i delete the old .rcv in order for a new one to be made? Think i just confused myself |
