Hey, I've done a bit of coding in the past and wanted to take a whack at changing a few things in the code to tweak the bots to be more competitive against human players. Mainly: having engies wait a few seconds longer for ammo respawn, and checking for nearest tele not being owned by other team.

I'm using VS2005, and have pulled the latest version out of subversion. Everything compiles OK - no errors - and the plugin will load in TF2, but I get a "memory could not be read" error message whenever I try to add the first bot. Crashes.

I've tried various revisions from SVN, and I've tried pulling the full source for TF2 and building under utils/ instead, but I get the same results every time - loads ok, then crashes on first bot.

I've spent days googling around, but I can't find out what I'm missing or doing wrong.

Can someone please tell me a direction I need to go in to build correctly?

Thanks!

are you using the source code from sourceforge.net???

svn co https://rcbot2.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rcbot2 rcbot2

http://rcbot2.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/r...mp;revision=127

Yes, sir. https://rcbot2.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rcbot2. I've tried the last three revisions with no luck.

So, VS2005 is what you're using? If so, and there's no special trick I'm missing, then I'll just keep plugging away and see if I can get it going.

did you see this post?

http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index....&hl=dt_send

you need to change dt_send.h

although the dt_send.h in the SVN has this, you may not have downloaded it
