Hi everyone.
Ok I've managed to make decent waypoints and paths for ns_agora, in Beta 4. It isn't completed though. I've waypointed and path'ed about the whole map, if not actually all of it. But after a few tests with RCBot(s) (I've made the waypoints with Marines only in mind) I've noticed the Bots don't seem to know exactly what to do, even though the waypoints have the proper Flags for specific places. I know I must have made some mistakes here and there. Especially on ladders and for elevators. Ns_agore is huge though. I took me a few hours to make the waypoints and paths decent enough for the Bot(s) to walk everywhere. Only problems so far are ladders and elevators. Perhaps I should say, to, that it's my first ever waypoints/paths. So don't be surprised about the current result. Please, if I may ask, can anyone take a look at what I've done, and then let me know what's wrong and what's alright ? Also, if you'd like to and have time to, please feel free to make the corrections if you think you can fix specific mistakes. Don't worry about 90% of the map has been waypointed. All you'd have to do is to look at ladders mostly, and perhaps elevators (There's 3 of them I think). Thanks a lot. I'm awaiting replies/updates. Oh, I already waypointed this same map 3 days before you posted this. You can find it here: http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=329 You could try looking at mine and compare notes?
I would look it over for you but i'm upto my eye-brows in waypointing now because of this new NS 3.0 beta 4 patch. |

Thanks Sandman[SA]
You've done a superb work dude, waypointing Ns_Agora. It was seriously amazing. Compared to what I did. Well, mine was similar, but you work on ladders and elevators just made me cry, thinking I wouldn't had to do it myself ! With your permission Sandman, I'd like to edit some of your work though. There's a few places where I'd like to adjust the paths/waypoints to give the RCBots more possibilities of paths (I'm not going to worry on the CPU power it takes for them to find the paths faster, since my Processor is powerful enough for such calculations). Well I took the permission already, but I just wanted to mention it. From what you've done, I done some "improvements", for myself if I can say. I've also done some tweaks here and there in other NS maps you've waypointed (From the link you gave me. In fact I did some changes in all maps you've waypointed). For example, the majority of changes I've made were ones so the Bots could navigate into some vents, and crouch/jump at specific locations. Other than such changes, all I did was to add some waypoints, thus adding paths to your current waypoints. Anyways. Thanks a lot for the time and effort you took for us, to waypoint those NS maps. I myself really appreciate it. I usually play with humans online. But there's times when I just want to explore a map and mess with new Commander strategies, and I play with RCBots in such situations. Cya. P.S: If you want, I could post all the .rcw files (Originally yours from the link you gave in your post), so you and others could see what I changed. |

Thanks for the compliment Lyran.
To be honist, once these waypoints hit your computers, they are yours to do with as you please. There is no copy-write laws to protect them and we ( the waypoint authors ) are unable to sign them so you may edit these waypoints to your hearts content without worries. The only thing I ask is please don't pass off my hard work as your own if you did nothing to them. With that said, Im glad you enjoyed them and happy fragging |

Ok here's the .rcw file for Ns_Agora with my personal changes from your original work Sandman[SA]. Just so you can see the changes, or so anyone could download it and see for themselves/compare/improve/re-do.
