Another thing I found with 0.4 is that (atleast when I try to add some waypoints for dustbowl) is that they have problem getting out the spawn. I make a waypoint about 5 feet away from the waypoint outside, but they it doesnt look like their getting connected.

Bots fall way too fast, you shoot them on their feet and they fall down instantly really fast.

I am working on waypointing pl_goldrush and everything works perfectly except for the Setup time, Does anyone know how to make the bots wait 50 seconds (the waypoint "openslater" command doesn't seem to be working correctly, They still try and walk through the door) Or if there is a way to exec a automaticaly exec a .cfg file 50 seconds into the game? This would be VERY helpful. Thanks for your time!

Just 1 question;

1) How can I waypoint maps?

On ctf_turbine, some of the bots seem to be getting stuck for a few seconds on this door near spawn:

1)
to see them (two console commands):

CODE

rcbot waypoint on
rcbot pathwaypoint on

adding waypoints (the basics):
CODE

rcbot waypoint add
rcbot waypoint delete
rcbot waypoint givetype <type>
rcbot waypoint save
rcbot waypoint setradius

open up ctf_2fort to see what im talking about.

also, released waypoints for the map "ctf_Silo_beta1" here

Anyone know how the openslater type works? I have been trying to get them to wait till after the doors open on pl_goldrush all week.

I found some more bugs:

1: For me, after a little while of gameplay, engineers just stop after building the Tele Entrance and stands at the resupply locker, I tried with removing the locker waypoints , and teleentrance waypoints. they still stood there, doing nothing.

2: When the medics start healing someone, it takes about 5 seconds before the target actually get healed.

3: (this one might be reported, but I'm to lazy to read the thread again.) When using "rcbot waypoint setradius", they still walk in the middle of the square, where you put the waypoint.

Beware of my bad english, MWAHAHAHA.

Thanks for that. One more thing, what are the different <type> commands?

Can the bots get around in a map like Well Classic? They would need to be able to shoot the door to get in the enemy base.

hmmm, for some reason the bots just stand in the spawn and do nothing. The medic will start healing everyone though.

I think maybe the waypoints aren't loading.
Just to check it I did this:
When I type in rcbot waypoint on it says "error could not load waypoints"?
Get an error too if I type rcbot waypoint on.

Anyone have this problem.
I tried copying the waypoints into the actual team fortress 2/tf folder but that didn't do anything.
I'm supposed to CUT the dll from the rc bot folder and put it in the team fortress 2/bin folder right?
Not COPY it.

I know it can only use one dll so I'm sure it wouldn't mater. Grasping at straws.

Thanks,

Rick

Make sure you are on one of the ctf_ maps: (ctf_2fort / ctf_well / ctf_turbine)

I edited some maps to remove the Setup time with a program called entspy (since the bots try and run into the doors during setup time) I edited pl_goldrush and cp_dustbowl, If anyone wants to know how to edit the maps to do this just ask me...

P.S. The Bots provide a very good payload match, although if they see any enemies they immediately run away from the cart to kill them ;P (They have Homocidal ADHD)

It was on 2fort. Re-downloading tf2 to makes sure there isn't some problem with that.

UPDATE. Got it.

Stupid mistake.

First I had the folder as the "RCBot2 TF2 Alpha0.4". So I took the internal folder "rcbot2" out only to find an older version or the "rcbot" folder was in there too. Deleted this old folder and everything works now.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but the bots' movement speed isn't as accurate as it should be. It seems to me like certain classes move a lot faster than yourself. This along with the fast falling speed are the only glaring problems I see with this.

I don't know much about messing with VSPs, I've only done a little tinkering with it, but it seems you're manually moving the bots? This might sound stupid and wrong, but isn't there a way to move them via some function calls which automatically handle speed? Maybe sending +forward, +backward, etc commands from the bots? If you're already doing this and I haven't noticed, then my apologies.

Other than that, this is an amazing project that has already accomplished some amazing things! This is the perfect time-waster for me when I'm looking to play TF2, but don't have an internet connection. I am looking forward to 0.5 with anticipation, so please keep up the good work! smile.gif

I made a video of 10v10 Bots on cp_dustbowl smile.gif

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5pnO_u7pLg

If you don't want video's of the bots on youtube I will remove it cheeseh, I put proper credits. I know some moders don't like publicity.
