Hi,
I'm unashamedly a newbie. ;-) I downloaded the Rcbot version for Day of Defeat Source but could not get it to add bots from the team menu. After reading posts on this forum I found that the old rcbot for DOD:S did not work with the Orangebox version. I then found an orangebox version of the dll and copied over the existing one. Unfortunately this still did not fix the problem and I still can't add bots. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks Pac |

The first thing you'll have to understand is that the Source engine and the GoldSrc engine are very different. Naturally, this is why we have two versions of the RCBot. For our purposes, they work differently.
The second thing you'll have to understand is that these two versions of the RCBot work differently. You can't just swap out things from the GoldSrc version with the Source version. This also means that you can't follow instructions for a different version verbatim. You'll also have to understand that support for mods are implemented via a configuration file, and support for maps are implemented via waypoints. The maps and corresponding waypoints will differ - obviously because DoD and DoD:S will use different maps. The upshot of it all is that we don't have "full" working support for DoD:S for RCBot2 - we're only close to implement support for custom gameplay through scripts. |
