and I have to report 2 bugs

1.Bot cant recognize his teammates in teamplay,they always open fire at each other.
2.Bot cant choose all Combine models in teamplay.

HMMM..

I am running dedicated server on Server 2008...
And it still crashes HL2DM.

Part of the problem is the readme... I am not sure if I put the files in the right directory.

But I do the plugin_load ../bin/HPB_Bot2

command and my server crashes!

Thoughts please?

Frist you have to see this:
rcbot2\config\bot_mods.ini
If you use it to HL2DM,u should set:

mod = HL2DM
steamdir = orangebox
gamedir = hl2mp
bot = HL2DM

And the waypoint you have to put it in:
rcbot2\waypoints\orangebox\hl2mp

But the rcbot2 OB verion cant use with Mani Admin Plugins,it may crash SDS some time.

Well thanks, your english is very good..

However I now get ... in the console:

I add the plugin - and it RUNS (HPB bot2)

But if I do rcbotd it says 'error, no map running or not dedicated server'
(but it is a dedicated server and a map is running....)

Or if I do rcon_password password
then in console from remote console, it says (if I issue command rcbot addbot) 'you do not have access to this command!!!'

AARRGGHH...

I am so near!!

With 0.58 beta I got a new bug ....
That RCbot2 0.58 will crash server (I have remove anything plugins to test it)
Not only HL2DM also in TF2 ,0.58 crash when player join sometime.

I dont know why it happen.
But 0.57 beta is ok for TF2.

Hope Cheeseh can fix it.

FINALLY....

I got all the files in the right directory and the bots are BACK!

IT's great..

OH except the tendency to CRASH one in a while with MANI ADMIN which I use...

Maybe I will have to remove it??

By following the instructions above to the letter in a new server..
rcbot2 folder is in the same folder as orangebox and my HL2DMServer.
Put the waypoint files into that.
Change the config.ini to


mod = HL2DM
steamdir = orangebox
gamedir = hl2mp
bot = HL2DM

HPB_Bot2.dll in orangebox/bin

Put HPB_bot2.vdf
in orangebox/hl2mp/addons and it contains:

"Plugin"
{
"file" "C:\source dedicated server\HL2DMServer\orangebox\bin\HPB_Bot2.dll"
}

(IT IS a text file)

Edit server.config to contain

rcbotd addbot
rcbotd addbot
rcbotd addbot
rcbotd addbot

(to add 4 bots.)

That seems to work and adds 4 bots on every map..

I tihnk that is what I did..

HOWEVER - the problem STILL is the whether in secure or insecure mode, the server only runs an hour or two, maybe less, before crashing...

PLEASE can someone sort out the crashes - I hopefully have helped by posting here how I get the bots to run (and they are good bots - they even climb ladders now. Now only if they would KEEP ON running!!)
