seems steampipe has bugged out vdf files now...it's just keeps getting better doesn't it? lol!
so I think sourcemods has a more lower chance of running via vdf so must load it using direct commands lines now as what you did on rcbot2. anyway I've tested rcbot on hl2dm and wow the bots are using lifts and button very smooth now. I've yet to catch one sniping though. I'm updating the manual installation guide to include hl2dm since it needs the rcbot_runplayer_cmd 416. |

check if the vdf is also in \SteamApps\common\day of defeat source\dod\addons folder hl2dm doesn't need to hook, as the bot api works fine in hl2dm |

QUOTE check if the vdf is also in \SteamApps\common\day of defeat source\dod\addons folder Yep, that was it... my vdf ended up in the wrong folder somehow ![]() \SteamApps\common\day of defeat source\dod\addons like you said, and removed the plugin from the launch options , so the only thing in launch options now is -novid -insecure. It now works from the rcbot2.vdf... I wonder if when i first installed it with the installer, I may of pressed the save config button without first selecting a game in the drop down? Seems I may of done that, which might explain why it ended up in my user folder? I'm sure after that, I saved the configs several times with dods selected, it seems? Because I was trying to get it to work using the launcher.... ![]() Or, maybe it was left over from when I first tried to install rcbot2 .71 on the steampiped dods, hmmmm.... ![]() I'll fix the steampipe manual install guide above....Fixed & DONE.... |

I think Insane_dod used the steampiped version of dods as the installer is meant for that.

@madmax2....awesome bro! looks like it working. Much tnx!
Definitely must update my games soon. will gather some files so you can test it with dods dm plugin or you can go ahead if you like ![]() https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=1697565 this plugin will let you play pure FFA (free for all) deathmatch which is perfect now that rcbot2 dods has a command, "rcbot_ffa 0/1" I've tested it totally works and it's so cool! |

I've got this package you put together, dods_deathmatch.rar, so i'll try that out. Might be easier for me to get up and running? I'll give it a go today, so may have some feedback in a few hours... ![]() |

@ genmac,
It's working, woo hoo... ![]() Now, I think I did this the hard way. Since I had metamods and sourcemod allready working with the newest versions, I didn't want to overwrite them with something older. I first used your dods_deathmatch.rar package, just installing any additional missing files folder by folder. Somehow I missed the dod_deathmatch.smx the first time, but after adding that, it started working, flags removed from maps & such.. Then I overwrote the deathmatch files with the newest version from alliedmods, 3.2 I think. Went back into the game and enabled rcbot FFA and my team turned on me with a vengence, traitors.... ![]() So, it seems to be working correctly on dods steampipe.... Is there a console cmd to turn off/disable deathmatch mode, instead of renaming the metamod vdf, in case I want to switch back & forth for a while? Maybe "deathmatch 0" works, havn't tried that since getting it working? Heh heh, I did notice a bot (axis support class) hanging out next to the toilet for most of the game on flash, he never left there, think he had the runs or something... I was in FFA mode and using the rcw that came with .72, not sure if it was a wpt issue, or he was ment to camp there, good place for camping I guess... ![]() |

I know the home folder thing might not work for hlds servers, but this is just to release while I make more changes. Hope this is okay with you guys to get the bot to work and install easily. Installing You can use the RCBot2 Installer.exe to install and run the RCBot2 Launcher, from there everything is easy. However if you run in to problems you can install manually Manual Installation Copy the rcbot2 folder from ‘files/’ into your users/<PC USER> folder (or Documents and settings/<PC user>) Running You can use the RCBot2 Launcher to run RCBot2 automatically however once you have loaded the game with the launcher you need to create a server to create a game This version of RCBot 2 uses a hook into the game engine to make bots move properly in TF2 and DOD:S. To do this, the bot needs to know, in memory, where to hook This is held in the variable rcbot_runplayer_cmd_tf2 and rcbot_runplayer_cmd_dods for the appropriate mod The rcbot_runplayer_cmd value must be the same as the latest version of the mod, found here: http://www.sourcemodplugins.org/vtableoffsets If you experience crashes try changing rcbot_runplayer_hookonce to 0 or 1 or vice versa Manual running If you want to run RCBot2 manually, just enter the command line in the modification of your choice in Steam -insecure +plugin_load “..\bin\HPB_Bot2” Then create a server Adding bots Rcbot addbot <class> <team> <name> If you want to add a random bot by using a bot profile, just type Rcbot addbot If you want to add a bot with a specific class and an automatic team type Rcbot addbot 1 for scout in TF2, or support in DOD:S For TF2 scout or DOD:S Support class , see the list of class numbers below: Team Fortress 2 CODE Class numbers 1 = scout 2 = sniper 3 = soldier 4 = demoman 5 = medic ( Bugs ) 6 = hwguy 7 = pyro ( Bugs ) 8 = Spy 9 = Engineer Team Numbers: 2 = red 3 = blue DOD:Source CODE Class numbers 0 = Rifleman 1 = Support 2 = Assault 3 = Sniper 4 = Machine Gunner 5 = Rocket Team Numbers: 2 = Allies 3 = Axis Does that TF2 weapon pick-up logic apply to Engiebots when they want metal? |

@madmax..wow glad you got it running
![]() the dods dm v3.1 complete pack I posted some months ago is outdated but seems it's still working. the dod dm v3.2 is much better but it tends to lag (framerate drop) on me after 10-15 mins of gameplay so had to switch to tdm and back to ffa using this command, dm_mode 0/1 to refresh and unlag it. yeah the metamod.vdf.stop thingy is just a full stoppage of the entire sourcemods plugin works. if you wanna disable certain plugins only you just move the plugin on the "disabled" folder. sometimes they have configs or command to turn them off in game. you can also try this console command.... "sm plugin unload nameofplugin or pluginnumber". You can get exact name of plugin or plugin number using the "sm plugins list" then reload or change map. To re-enable the plugin, simply use "sm plugin load pluginname". as for standing bots hehe that means the poor bot has no wpts to use to start moving hence you need to get this fully updated stock map wpts ready for tdm/ffa battles... http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1728 this map I also exploited to the max lol meaning I added specific tdm/ffa wpts + dods_dm spawnpoints so just read the readme how to use them. http://rcbot.bots-united.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1732 I have some few more maps and wpts I've modified for tdm/ffa games will post them soon. HEhe enjoy! |

genmac no other plagins, running bots on listen server. OS: Win 7 32-bit 0.70 works better, but 0.71 and 0.72 have this problem :-( I do not understand what the matter check rcbot_anglespeed cvar in console or in your rcbot config rcbot_anglespeed shouldn't be 0 , between 0.1 and 1.0 is good bot sensitivity should be between 1 and 20 if the sensitivity and bot angles are too low it may look like they are not moving. Technically, It's likely that the bot aiming angle is a QNAN but there are checks for that to reset it. If the sensitivity/angle speed is messed up it could cause that consistently. |

Great to hear INsane_dod... ![]() ![]() My system is Win 7 64 bit, normal dods steampipe and I flushed and verified before installing. Worked off the installer .... but I did install RCBot2 just before the steampipe beta, maybe I still have old files there but I don't think that would matter. Also the HL2DM bots are working OK. Nice work Cheeseh, when I saw the installer I thought ...Oh this might get complicated. The way the files are arranged and the desktop shortcut is just perfect, make a singleplayer mode separated from multiplayer ... very easy. I think the bots are progressed enough to say they are not only the only way to play singleplayer on dods but also they are of a level of quality that someone would pay for. If they do get Workshop items running for dods...this would have to be submitted, it is a must have for people who just bought the game. Believe it or not I think they will do more workshops for games like dods, hell I submitted a dods item to the TF2 workshop (requested to do so for legal reasons) and now it is in the game ![]() http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=134481860 |
