Here is how to install rcbot for steam listenserver.

Unzip the rcbot folder here:
CODE
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<my-email-address>\half-life

Next, edit the liblist.gam file (with notepad.exe) located here:
CODE
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<my-email-address>\half-life\ns

Without Metamod
Change the gamedll line in your liblist.gam from....
CODE
gamedll "dlls\ns.dll"

to this....
CODE
gamedll "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll"

With Metamod
Change the gamedll line in your liblist.gam from....
CODE
gamedll "dlls\ns.dll"

to this....
CODE
gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"

Then add the following to your C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<my-email-address>\half-life\ns\addons\metamod\plugins.ini
CODE
win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll

Please let me know if you need farther help.

it still doesnt work. im thinkin it might be the plugins.ini file. this is whats in it:

win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll

thats supposed to be right i think. when i type meta list in the console in-game it says there are no plugins. rcbot isnt listed. i dunno what to do.

btw: thanks for your other post.

Well, all I can tell you is that you must not have the rcbot folder under the correct directory. I have it setup exactly as I have discribed and it does work for me just fine.

Compare your directory tree to mine as this is how I have it installed.

if nothing is listed at all in 'meta list' then obviously you have edited the wrong plugins.ini file.

Even if you put it in the plugins.ini file it should be shown in 'meta list' whether it was working or not.

rolleyes.gif Interestingly enough, My server 'Gruuunts Steam Server', which IS a win32 server, wouldn't work until I changed the line:

win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll
to >>
win32 ..\rcbot\dlls\rcbot_mm.dll

in the metamod.ini file

with the exception of adminmod and HLBooster using the / Unix file format, AMX unstuckPro etc seem to follow the \ windows file format...

However you are absaloooootly right about using the right directory, there is No-Way it works without it.

Sounds like metamod.ini tho' and my above comment 'may' be the problem, I had half my plugins missing until the changes were made....

Incedentily would you mind if I linked to your site from mine Number-7 NS Server Support

I want to put mine and other peoples Bot waypoints on there as well. I've spent 2-months scanning the web and have over 290+ Maps from around the world now. I can mirror your site waypoint files for you if you object to me holding them on the site locally?
