you just need to edit the line that starts with "gamedll" in NS's liblist.gam file. just write
QUOTE
gamedll "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll"

this means you need rcbot folder above the ns folder i.e. in the same directory where ns folder is i.e. Half-life/ folder.

and opened the libst . game file located in the "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\gaming_freak2002@hotmail.com\half-life\nsp" directory replacing the game dll command with exactly this "GameDll "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll"

see the faq about server crashing, It isn't finding the rcbot dll, you may have the correct stuff written in liblist.gam but it can't find the rcbot folder. Why do people find installing to the correct folder so difficult to work out? I don't want to criticise I'd rather ask those who install to the wrong folder to tell me how to update the readme properly so others don't do the same thing. (Did you read the install in the readme??? blink.gif )

Try picking one operating system. Are you using Linux or Windows?

Windows
// Using HPB_bot support for now
gamedll "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll"
//gamedll_linux "dlls/ns_i386.so"

Linux
// Using HPB_bot support for now
//gamedll "dlls\ns.dll"
gamedll_linux "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_i486.so"

put this in the gamedll spot C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\gaming_freak2002@hotmail.com\half-life\rcbot\dlls\rcbot.dll

1) i did that but when i go in game to addbots it says it doesnt know the addbot command

2) so am i suppose to leave the "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll" like that or put this in the gamedll spot C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\gaming_freak2002@hotmail.com\half-life\rcbot\dlls\rcbot.dll

1) The rcbot commands to add bots for NS are as follows.
  • rcbot addbot - adds 1 bot to random team
  • rcbot addbot 1 - adds 1 bot to marine team
  • rcbot addbot 2 - adds 1 bot to alien team
2) You are suppose to leave the game dll line like this...
CODE
gamedll "../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll"

DO NOT TRY TO LOAD ANY OTHER GAMEDLL LINES IN THE LIBLIST.GAM OR RCBOT WILL BE IGNORED!

Also, I don't know about rcbot but half-life does not read redundant paths. Please stick to the virtual path as discribed above.

Another note to add for steam installation. It has been noted that steam will tend to overwrite the liblist.gam file for just about every mod. To fix this problem, right click on your correctly edited liblist.gam and select "properties" from the drop down menu. At the bottom of the file properties page, you should see Attributes:. Put a check in the "Read-only" box and click apply.
