OK...rcbot...it loads everything is working... i go into console type in

rcbot set_pass ****
says: rcbot set.

THEN
meta list
and it shows up looking fine

NOW the part where i want to kick myself in the nuts over and over

rcbot addbot
YOU DO NOT HAVE PERRMISSON FOR THIS COMMAND

can someone plz tell me WTF is going on...
i went into the users.ini file and my user looks like this

"jake" jo 10

but if i type in

rcbot squad_menu i get the ******* menu

HELP ME WITH THE
rcbot addbot -permisson bull crap

PLZ

BTW- i'm running it on Steam and i have AdminMod,Amx,Met

pls pls..

the squad menu works with everyone.

if it says "you have been authenticaed" after using rcbot set_pass command, then it has worked.

remember the names are CASE SENSITIVE!!!

so if your actual game name is Jake or JAKE or JaKE then it wont work, u gotta make the cases the exact same in the bot_users.ini file as in your game name

[obviously I didn't update the bot_users.ini file to say this] It should say:

# ------------

# (name in quotes) (password (no spaces)) (accesslevel)
# e.g.

didnt say that...only said {RCBOT>} Password Set

and i have checked again and again...name and password are all lower case and the same... still nothing

thats what i have in the user.ini file

what do i type in console

rcbot set_pass jo ?

if i type that then it says

{RCBOT>} Password Set


Then if i type this

rcbot addbot

i get

[RCBOT>] You do not have access to this command...

and try changing your name a few times maybe..

I dunno, that should work, mines works okay.

Just a curious Q.. did you exit server and start it again?

had a similiar problem when I installed RcBot 1.3 and Admin Mod in a huge war (hate my machine at the moment) but as Cheeseh says.. ["name" pwd 10] should do the trick ph34r.gif

oh yea of course you need to restart the server if you make any changes to the bot_users.ini file rolleyes.gif

maybe the bot isnt installed in the correct folder because it must be abkle to find the bot_users.ini file to read, it looks in half-life/rcbot/bot_users.ini make sure it exists.

You could always try this.

Open your server.cfg and enter....
CODE
rcon_password yourpassword

Set your password to whatever you like.

Then either change the map or restart the server.

Next, rejoin your server and open the console. Type: rcon_password yourpassword ,then hit enter. Now, type: rcon rcbot addbot ,then hit enter. A bot should join your server that selects random team.

You can mix it up some by adding 1 or 2 after the addbot command, like this...

rcon rcbot addbot 1 = bot joins marine team only
rcon rcbot addbot 2 = bot joins alien team only




PS: Entering your info and auth in the bot_users.ini file is for access to the botmenu. Make sure you bind a key for that and it should work.

Nope sad.gif The OLD Bots will though (the one mainly for rocket crowbar 1) but I noticed bugs with it back ages ago.

The current bot will load cstrike because it is in the list of modifications (in the code) but I haven't coded any CS stuff, but when I release the source it should be simple to make them adapt to CS if anyone wants to try.

lol well that could be the reason its not working lol...anyway sorry for wasting your time...i thank you very much for responding.

Do you know of any bot that will work for 1.6(steam) Counter-strike?
