Well I dont know quite what to think, if you read through the Steam and Natural Selection forums over the last couple of months about spurious server crashes, you can bet your bottom dollar (Stop that you are english, where is your patrioism, god save our...) zip >> I'm back where was I? Oh yeh, you can rely on RcBot or WhichBot receiving the blame in 7 out of 10 replies!

Now my server would crash on perhaps a two hourly basis, with serverdoc waiting in the wings to effect a speedy restart, I had become complaceant about the crashes so when i saw 8hrs and climbing - well what the heck is this then.

NS v3 beta 4a has now been installed and what have i got (touch wood) a server that hasnt so much as hiccuped in 8hrs 45min.

Not knowing what was actually causing the crash in the 1st place doesnt really help, and there never seemed a pattern that I could allude to as the culprit. However; I will be interested to see if any other dual-bot users like myself have seen this stability recovery on their servers or not. ph34r.gif

To be honist with you, there is not much you can do to get a 100% stable NS server unless you restrict the hell out of it. The half-life engine simply was not designed to take that kind of abuse by adding so many entities doring the course of the game.

But for the record, my NS 2.01 server running both rcbot v1.3 and whichbot v0.86 has been noted to run for as long as 117 hours and as little a 30 seconds. A pretty poor track record I'm sure but as far as NS it self go's, that's concidered normal.

My TFC 1.5 server on the other hand, running foxbot v0.698 and neotf v1.8.7 has been noted to run for weeks on end without a single hickup. Hell, you really don't need serverdoc for tfc and cs anymore.
