Hey folks.

I seem to have narrowed down the cause of the crashing problem.

I started out using your release dll, but I was still getting crashes.

I checked the Watson dump, and found that the crashes were occuring regularly, every fifteen minutes or so.

So I checked my server.cfg file and saw that I had both mp_combattime and mp_timelimit set to 15 minutes. I changed mp_timelimit to 10 minutes, That way when the round ended, the map would change.

This time, the server went an hour and a half between crashes.

I'll keep you posted.

I had somethin go crazy with my server... of course I had it in a high thread priority, so when it did get stuck in what I can only assume is an infinite loop, it was hung at 99% CPU usage, and it took me for freaking ever to terminate the process so I could restart it... mad.gif Since then I think it's crashed once, it wasn't up very long, no clue how long though, I've been remodeling walls and crap in my house, now everythings covered in drywall and sawdust... rolleyes.gif

I deleted the emails serverdoc sent me with all the info about the crashes and times sad.gif man I'm a smart one... but its kinda fun having your own SMTP server in yer house laugh.gif

I need to ask some questions... I'm curious and wanting to debug using HLDS... but how do I get HLDS to work in steam to run NS?! Do I need to download anything...?

to get the windows or linux hlds installation. Make sure you run hldsupdatetool.exe before you get started (if you can find easyHLDSupdate I can recommend you use this instead, its a shell updater). you nornally only need to update the valve directory.


to install NS, just place the nsp dedicated server installation into the hlds directory e.g:

d/:dedicatedserver/nsp

most people use the non-GUI DOS command line to kick hlds.exe into action. e.g:

d:\dedicatedserver\hlds.exe -game nsp -maxplayers 17 +map co_organic -console +ip 192.168.1.100 +port 27016 +mapchngecfgfile server.cfg +exec banned.cfg +exec listip.cfg

bleh, I can get HLDS to run with NS but I CAN'T debug with it...!!!! ARghh, friggin' steam!!!

For the commands, I'd love to do that but it requires some major code refactoring but I would probably do it sometime...

because Steam HLDS sucks and doesn't show all messages thrown to the server!!!

I am changing the methods used to print on the server for messages and am going to use the actual ServerPrint() function... if that doesn't work then steam HLDS really does suck tongue.gif

OH! and whats the access levels for rcbot, im sure theyre in the manual somewhere, but all i need to know is what do i need to give it people to let them kill the bots when theyre stuck... ::yawn::

Wait till my next dll it might help wink.gif

the access level for util commands is 6

I will probably change access levels next version to allow access to each individual thing... because if you give a player 6 they automatically get access to waypoint creation etc (which is 4).

That'd be pretty sexy... cause I want my admins to be able to kill the bots, and admin_slay won't do it laugh.gif

But, I'd rather they not jack up all my waypoints so everything gets all fubar and the bots can't make it through maps.

This one has changed commands, so if anything is weird with commands, tell me. (don't tell me killbot doesn't work.. I already know... metamod is jacking up)

I have changed the access levels. To see what access level you need for a user, use this nifty page here : http://rcbot.bots-united.com/accesslev.htm (ONLY for this version and subsequent versions of the bot)

As the access levels are changed you should try to test them ( I can't test them very well... ), so make sure you have access when you give access, and DON't have access when you DON'T give access!!!

I've updated the source too

I enabled that a looooong time ago tryin to prevent RCbot crashes, back when I was new and stupid dry.gif, so now I'll disable it and see what happens!
