wink.gif All you have to do is exit steam without loging off and it will give you a warning that you can use Steam in Offline mode. It is only good for a while though so you have to refresh it if you don't use it for a while (days weeks?) Just log in to steam start a game the leave and exit without loging off. YOu have to right click on the Steam icon in the task bar. It shoud give you the option to exit without logging off biggrin.gif

I DL'd and installed the beta .dll. When it ran it said that the .dll was the the metamod version of RCbot. Is there a non-metamod version of this dll or have i've done somethign wrong?

I got 4 people with access in my bot_users.ini file.. and it doesn't matter whether they're on or not, I always have access... copy your entire bot_users.ini file into here, there might be a mistake somewhere.

i dunno whether this is my bad waypointing or wat but most of the time the bots just sit around in their spawn now, as if theyre waiting for orders or camping... ive been able to walk right up to a group of aliens sat around (ill post a screen if no-one else has seen this) and theyve just ignored me. and then as if by magic, some will start running round again, but then its not long b4 they stop again and slowly spin round on the spot dry.gif

Try the rcbot squad_menu thing, and remove all bot squads... Sometimes what happens on my server, the bots will get in a squad, and the squad leader wont move, causing all the other bots to stand still...

And.. I realize completely that this is a beta DLL, but what in the crap happened to the CPU usage? lol laugh.gif My CPU usage on the server for HLDS was usually in the 10-30% load, and now it won't go below like 95% I'm gonna have to get a better heatsink and push the CPU clock even higher biggrin.gif

But the important thing is, the server's been up for 44 hours with no crashes! yay!! happy.gif

Server's been up for 95 hours! woo!!


I think there's two things on combat that need work... the marines don't get resupply nearly as often as they should, and the aliens still go gorge way too much.

Once the bots go gorge, they have a hell of a time killing off marines to get more points to continue their upgrades.

well, jesus christ it shouldn't be too hard to work it out!!! (/blasphemy) I'm making a whole new commands help file for next release (HTML) anyway, so any questions about documenting more commands I will just ignore or blaspheme against...

I didn't include update_ladder_time on each bot profile... I don't see the point in doing it either ohmy.gif


I've put up the latest DLL and updated the source
, just with some of those *possible* fixes you mentioned and the other stuff like more messages for bot users etc... (!! haven't added the adduser/remove user stuff yet)

and that caution has been there for ages, it always seems to happen when the first bot is added, but it causes no trouble

I've been jacking around with my server, doing stuff I shouldn't do, to try and get it to crash.. and so far its been up, crashless for... 128 hours..

Some odd 5 days 8 hours.

So I'd say this beta is pretty damn stable. Unfortunately, tomorrow I'm getting in a bunch of hardware, so I'll have to turn off the server sad.gif ... specifically for the new PSU... I'd rather not try to do an on-the-fly exhange of a power supply laugh.gif
