is there a way to get whichbot and rcbot together in alien team? For me it results in a crash everytime.
I'm using ns3beta4, steam, amxx, metamodx on windows

works fine for me with just metamod

might just u/l another beta dll soon, that different movement really crapped the bots up. :/ they sometimes walk forward and back a lot..

I wish I could get my server to play combat maps, it freaks out after 5 mins with a HLDS crash... 6-7 hours on Regular maps.

Had to remove AMXX and Metamodx (No longer supported it appears). Might just wipe the whole lot and start again - sigh

My server DID crash last night though It was up for some odd 31 hours or something.. some jerkass probably did it. Couldn't grab what file the error occured in before I accidently closed the window.. ::kicks VNC::

As for AMXX, I had problems with that from the start.. I posted my plugins somewhere.. don't remember where off hand, so I'll paste it again in here



Normally, it runs for like 4 or 5 days without any problems... and I got a buttload of plugins on it
(I know a bunch of those plugins are somewhat old.. but finding up-to-date good plugins for NS is eine schmerz im der arsch... And I don't know how to code for metamod! )

If you can afford to take your server offline for half a day or so, and have physical access to it, I'd suggest running the Microsoft memory diagnostic thingy and memtest86 to see if theres a problem with your ram anywhere

Ahh, quick question. What happens if I didn't add the new stuff for the individual bot profile ini files? Will it just run a default level or are these new commands needed?

it runs the default

if you change the default in the game it changes every current running bots values too. (which I added in the latest I think), the bots values are set when the bot joins the game to the default or its value.

In reference to you server problems

Running Adminmod and AMX together on a machine is a recipe for disaster, I know some get away with it but it is NEVER suggested and does not work more times than it does work. Been there did that!! Cruising great with AMXx 0.16 (no Adminmod), AMXx appears to be wayyyy better, less of a resource sucker. Also, what version of Metamod are you using? I have had problems with recent revs but 1.17.p8 works great. jus some suggestions. AMXx has more of a variety and in my opinion better plugins anyway, but thats just my opinion. Might want to check this out

The only reason I'm running adminmod and amxmod is because I freakin' hate amxmod, but there's plugins on there I want to use, and I can't get them for adminmod. AMX is stripped down to the barest essentials I need to get those plugins to work, and that's how it sits.

I hate AMXx even more, so I'll never put that on there again.

As for metamod, I'm running... 1.17.1.0

Most of the time people use AMXx for the 3 plugins that are worth it, and I don't think theyre worth it at all.

My NS server doesn't really have any problems anymore, it stays up for a minimum of two days now usually, which is fine by me. Now that I fixed the SMTP thing, pings dropped by like 30, the FPS dips are for the most part gone, it's more stable, and the website is like 8129038021% faster!

And I've not had any odd crashes occur since I stripped down AMX... stupid plugins not bein for adminmod and stupid me for being far too lazy to recode them for it.

I just asked that question because my NS 3.0 on steam dedicated server was crashing quite often once the bots started getting slautered like pigs but stayed running crash free for the 5 days I left it running but password locked.

Basicly, all I did was copy over the working rcbot folder from my NS 2.01 server and added the latest rcbot beta dll and waypoints. I did not modify, delete or change any rcbot configs from the working rcbot 1.3 release. Everything else was a fresh install. Currently running hlds 4120, amx 098a, mm 1.17.1, latest rcbot beta and wb 093 release.

What should I do to tidy up rcbot because that is where I believe the problem is coming from?

Check which DLL is crashing for you, then work backwards from there

Gotta sheepish confession. Dunno how it happened, but my metamod had slipped back to 1.17.0!

Installed 1.17.1 from www.metamod.org, looks like someone else running it now instead of will, ammxmod have dropped it from their site, but thats what I thort I had updated it to from 1.17.a in the first place... - sigh

Anyway, on the quest to finding the crash, I've fully loaded the server with the new (not amxx) amx from nsmod and shed loads of plugins including blood etc, whichbot is running, but have disabled Rcbot at the mo'. Server been up the longest ever at 15Hrs now. Will re-patch Rcbot back in tommorow a.m and let you all know how it goes!

One easy way to get it is go to http://www.unitedadmins.com, then click on the Forums button on top then go to Jussi Killvana's Plugins, it is officially being supported there. Newest version is 1.17.1p8, makes all of the difference in the world.

Pay special attention to the way that Metamod is set up, is is a bit different now to support "auto" plugin detection, works perfect for me.

Let me know if you don't find it.
