Badlife, are you using the latest dll that I posted? Because if you are, the source code is outdated and will show a crash at the wrong location as the dll is different. I'll need to update the source. To back me up, it looks like a stupid place for it to crash, pPlayer was not null as you can see from your watch's, so I don't know why it would have crashed there. I'll update the source now for you to try again.

You will also need to re-download the DLL on the first post which I updated for debugging, as I changed something, I can't remember what, but to be on the safe side...

QUOTE

what exactly was the problem? How the crap can an if statement crash the DLL?

The if statement was dereferencing a pointer. The pointer was NULL, so "bam", crash... I guess it appened because of the few FinishedCurrentTask() function calls in the task execution. Especially when a gorge builds something it calls this function, if it has no more tasks execpt its current it will finish current task and has nothing left, when the task finishing code still thinks there is a current task to be completed.

And flash, jesus christ, remember what I said before. Look at the console for things that [rcbot>] says when it reads the bot users, have you even tried the "rcbot users readusers" command yet that you so wanted me to do???? Are you even using the latest dll file?

Hehe, yeah I guess that would be bad..

Well, somethin' freakin' blew up, and my power went out, and like a loser I don't have UPS on my server, so I couldn't see if it crashed overnight or not.. So I'll re-start her and see if its crashy or not..

And flash, did you TRY logging in using any random password? With mine, it doesn't auto-log me in, I have to do

rcbot set_pass anypasswordyouwant

You might be able to stick it in your autoexec.cfg file or something..

I compiled the dll I was useing form the last source you posted. So it should be correct as far as that goes blink.gif Will try with new source but it would seem to make more sense to recomplie the source and use that which is what I did rolleyes.gif

that's a silly crash. Looks like a memory overwrite? Why would a client be stored if there is no client edict stored? me reads my stuff etc... are you using WON?

ps: of course you need to compile with debug info, use the win32 debug or win32 metamod debug (if using metamod version) profile in MSVC... I'm not sure if I can trust that crash log... it might be right, it might be in the wrong place... but I dunnno, even if you are using the release dll when debugging (by mistake) sometimes it gives you the right info.

I guessed that since steam ID string is defined before the m_pPlayer which could be causing problems. I would disable steam id reading if I knew how to detect if running a WON game, although I am unsure how to detect so..

huh.gif Well I just tried it with Steam and it smoked me right away also it locked up hard so I got no debug info. In this case is the Steam ID involved as I did not add any info about the steam ID to any ini file had not been paying more than cursory attention to the the Steam ID stuff sad.gif Steam was in offline mode at the time. Do I need to add anything to the ini file about steam ? Also not sure what my steam ID is dry.gif I will try it in online mode just for fun. blink.gif

You have no steamid or wonid in offline mode. You can only use loopback or username.

If you host a listenserver anyway, you automatically have access to everything, same with dedicated server console

blink.gif OK I just tried it with Steam in online mode and it did not crash although I only played for a short time longe enought to get everything upgraded and take over most of the mao rolleyes.gif Anyway the crash would seem to have something to do with the Steam ID code ? Could you add a command to bypass it that we could add to the user.ini ? huh.gif

I can put checks in to make sure the steam id is valid... i thoguth it would always be valid.. I was going to test it but I cant seem to run steam in offline mode, or don't know how to!! tongue.gif I thought it would be easy to do so but I don't see the damn option for it.... anywhere
