Cant add bots!!!

Except that it has folders counter-strike and dayofdefeat((i think) folders instead of Half-life folder. Also, cstrike.exe and dod.exe(i think) respectively.

Ok, if you got foxbot 697 and up to work then rcbot 1.0 and up should be a breese. The rcbot folder go's in the same directory as foxbot so when you go to your D:\SIERRA\Counter-Strike directory, you should then see both rcbot and foxbot folders. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Once that has been confirmed, go to your D:\SIERRA\Counter-Strike\ns\addons\metamod\plugins.ini and make sure your entry looks exactly like this.

CODE

win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll

Once that has been confirmed, try starting a lan ns server. Once the game loads up and you are now able to join, open the console and type: "meta list" Without the quotes, of course. One of 3 things should happen.

1. Unknown command = metamod is not loaded. Please install metamod.
2. rcbot failed = metamod could not find the rcbot_mm.dll. Please check your rcbot folder placement and contents again.
3. rcbot loaded = happy, happy, joy, joy. Rcbot is working!

Let me know what happens.

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 3 Joined: 3-October 03 Member No.: 50	i cant addbot either, am i correct in thinking that u type "rcbot addbot" to add a bot i have the regular hl the dircetory its in is here C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\rcbot i dont have metamod(do i need it?) im trying to load it through a lan game i have a: 2ghz P4 512 ram 128 radeon all in wonder aduigity 2 im trying to give u the most info to help me

Black hunter, are you using a shortcut? Or is that just a command line? You never told me if you have a "Working Directory" set, just a target, if not set "Wroking directory" in your shortcut to your half-life folder.

DO you have a "Working Directory" set, or just a target, IF NOT you MUST set "Working directory" in your shortcut to your half-life folder where the cstrike.exe/dod.exe or hl.exe file is. do it!!!!

ok, have you tried to type the correct command to add bots? Try one of these.

For dedicated server, this is: bot "rcbot addbot" (quotes inclueded)
For listenserver, this is: rcbot addbot (no quotes)

Is this dedicated or listenserver?

If listenserver, remove this garbage from your shortcut target line. Reason, it does not apply to an NS listenserver.

That's funny, it should not work that way. It should only need to be in your default half-life directory. For CS retail, this should be the counter-strike directory.

Are you loading rcbot via metamod? What does your metamod\plugins.ini look like?
