Cant Access bots Options

No matter what i do it says i dont have access to this command
i type in everything to access the rcbots and it says i dont have access
ive tryed to do lots of stuff but nothing works i cant access the bots help me

Look here,

and set up your bot_users.ini

And then you set it up like..


"name" password access steamid

and you can even go so far as to do like..

"" * 63 steam_0:#:######

so when you log on, you automatically have complete access to all of rcbot's features.

That is, if you're using the latest beta DLL... which you should be

i type this in the users.ini

"-::EmP!r3::-TrIx" apple 63

and i go into the server and type

rcbot set_pass apple

and then i rcbot addbot

[RCBOT] You do not have access to that command

Are you using the latest beta, or version 1.3 from way back when?

If you're using the old one, you should do like..


"-::EmPir3::-TrIx" apple 31

of course the colons and crap may screw with the coding... I dunno.

jeez, yeah.. no wonder, it's probably looknig at the name and saying "WHAT THE HELL??"



Use the steam ID trick instead if you can.

i even changed it to just TrIx and it still wont work
can u tell me exactly waht to type in the bot_users.ini

What version of RCBot are you running?

You should be able to type rcbot_ver in the console, and it'll come up with something like..

"rcbot_ver" is "1.38_mm_release_win32"

and if it is 1.38, you need to do it in this format..

"" * 63 steam_0:#:######

with your steam ID.

Uh, I am having the same type problem.
No matter what I do to edit the bot_users.ini my players can not get access.

I am running newest dll... I also have whichbots and metamod running.
they both work fine together in my listen server,
in the bot_users.ini I have added thier names, passwords, access levels and steam ID's...

Then they can use the set-pass command, and it says: [RCBOT>] Password Set.

But when they try to use the addbot command or the bot_menu, it says they dont have access... I set access levels to 63 (full).

What can I be doing wrong? I know the bots are in the correct directory...
They work great for me as a local client, all commands work.

But all others that join my server can not access the commands.

Its to do with the way you have setup your bot_users.ini:

You should have the following response in the players console, for example your password was pass

] rcbot set_pass pass
[RCBOT>] Password Set
[RCBOT>] You have been authenticated

[RCBOT>] Password Set
on it's own, signifies its to do with the way the password is set is the problem. This has been discussed many times on this forum, however, this is how you would populate your bot_users.ini. Note it is ALL case sensitive

# RCBOT USERS
# ------------
# Usage:
# (name in quotes) (password (no spaces)) (accesslevel)
# e.g.
# "John" johns_pass 10
# for john to have access level 10
# and password "johns_pass"
#
"Gruuunt" pass 63
"SMELLmyFINGER" bert 63
"HarryTheLamb" toerag 63

The name in quotes should be your player/s name as it shows up in the game:

e.g:

"<[CaPiTaLmAnIaCs]>Harry" burn 63

would be correct.

Anyway, have a look in there and it should hopefully be clear...

If everyone had access, they could delete the waypoints for every map, so your bots never worked, they could be in godmode all the time, and all sorts of other stuff.. you don't want everyone to have access

well i even changed it to just "trix" pass 63 and it still doesnt work

use the latest rcbot BETA if not already.

then when in the game, type "rcbot users showusers". Does it show anything?
