Mine's been up and running for 52 hours despite the fact I keep throwing on test versions of AMX plugins I'm making... biggrin.gif

I HATE HALF LIFE DEDICATED SERVER

I dislike "LINUX" half-life dedicated servers. Way to touchy and noware near as flexable as the windows version.

Yup I think I agree the same about the Linux version. Its got the auto-recovery but it makes a fair old good use of it, complaining about wrong pointers and gawd knows what else!! Now funny enough my good old Test waypointing server is running as a Listen server using the built in HLDS supplied with the Steam Client and that has NEVER Crashed. It can be running an All Bot game for a week or more before its closed down without a hiccup. It's also running MetaMod plugins - AdminMod and AMXMod all at the same time so looks like its dedicated hlds thats the problem. All I can think of now is it's my main dedicated server hardware, I've tried win2k >>XP>> win2003 and now Linux - sigh sad.gif

Gruuunt, if you have urldownload enabled then try this...

CODE
sv_allowdownloads 0

It should stop your server from recieving some of these tasteless and sometimes currpted sprays that your clients are trying to send.

Hehe, the tasteless sprays are exceptionally delicious in steam, now that you can use 24 bit sprays that have good resolution

True but custom sprays have been known to crash a server or two in the past.

I hadnt come across that before, but I have noticed that sprays were becoming prevelant whilst spectating on some of the maps although I hadnt really noticed 'em b4!

Yeh I do use downloading from my website, so i will try disabling the spray uploads to see if that help. come to think of it, it probably is client based the crashes as I said previously a bot only server goes on and on and on and on

Cheers Sandy smile.gif

::Shame-faced::

Non working RcBot was due to glibc not installed in Mandrake 10.1 Final (Whichbot obviously doesnt use it)... Still another one for experience!!

Now I need to trawl through the core dump files again and find out why AdminMod crashes - ho hum

Adminmod is kinda like AOL. It may look pretty but that's about all. Unless you can live with crashes? tongue.gif

Hehe, I've found the exact opposite about it... adminmod never crashes me, AMX does, until you strip it down to its basic stuff, and then make your own plugins that aren't coded crappy. biggrin.gif
