Problem with bot_users.ini Options

this is how the original file looks like

Heres the changes i made

NOthing seem to work, not level 6, 10 or 63...my server is running AMXMODX v1.01, MetaMod v1.17.4 and Natural Selection Version 3.0.1

I also would like to know how to configure it with my steamid so i do not have to put a password anytime i joined in (i saw it on a earlier post) thanks a lot and ill be waiting for an answer

oh i forgot to tell the version of the rcbot (in case this might has something to to, compatibility issues i dont know)

k looks like you are doing it right:

Use 63 if you are waypointing >>

As long as the name John is your in-game id as it is used as a mask.
just open your in game console and enter

rcbot set_pass johns_pass

you should get an authorised message

if it just says password set you are not matching the name defined with your in game name

eg I am Gruuunt therefore:

and using the command line in the in-game console:
rcbot set_pass eatsdirt

will work and errrm dont forget to remove any preceding #'s

oh yeh at a second loook at your post try using the latest beta dll 1.40 or later , I dont think any thing earlier will work correctly with 3.0 or above

[NAME PASS ACCESSLEV] is the old format from back in the day

[NAME PASS ACCESSLEV STEAMID] is the new one Cheeseh came up with.. with the setup like "" * 63 STEAMID it disregards both the name and password, and gives you automatic access..

Ok i installed the 1.40 version since the other one wasnt accepting me as a user...
i have the exact same problem no matter what i do, and i've tried anthing that you suggested me before... so i need a explanation like if were a 6 years old guy..

my steam id is STEAM_014579247
the password i want is : yakuza
and my nickname is [YKZA]TSUNAMI

i want that someone, using the default format, creates me the exact thing i need to make this run.. just that i need to copy and paste to my file and upload it, simple

by the way, i dunno if this has to do with, the readme file says that you shouldnt install it on the mod folder, but since i have a rented server its the only folder that i have access to, all i did was changing the path on the plugins.ini on metamod folder and works(i guess)... thanks everyone for their efforts but i still need help

Well, first of all, the rcbot folder absolutely MUST be found in your half-life root directory for it to work properly with any 3rd party mod rcbot supports. I have asked cheeseh repeatedly to change rcbot to support the addons standerd for just this porpous but as it seems, almost everyone is happy with it the way it is. So I gave up the arguement.

With that said, beg and plead with your server host to grant you access to the half-life directory OR to move the rcbot folder there for you and grant special access to the rcbot folder. If they say no then your screewed.

BTW Guys I am still using the old authorisation method on a 1.40 dll and it works - thats why I gave example as above....

So let me get this straight... if i cannot put the friggin rcbot folder on the half life folder (instead on the Ns one that its currently on) i cannot fix the glitch that wont let me autentificate myself on the server to add some stupid bots??

theres gotta be some other way.. the hlsw says that the plugin is working fine.. all i need its to autentificate myself... so please try to do what i asked on my earlier post,,, based on the default format, and with the variables i gave (my nickname,pass and steamid) can u make a format that actually works so i can just copy&paste into my server and pray god for a miracle?

Rcbot looks in the folder ../rcbot/ for everything rcbot related i.e. waypoints, weapons config, chat files, bot config file, authentication file and so on.

that is:

..

the parent directory of the mod folder

then in rcbot/

so thats something like

half-life/rcbot

if mod folder is:

half-life/ns

It is static and always looks in ../rcbot (or half-life/rcbot)

If you want it to work properly, put the folder there

Cheeseh, here is his problem. ( along with quite a few others ) TSUNAMI has a "rental" server and rental servers NEVER give you access to the half-life root directory. Only for the mod in which the contract was for. In his case, that's NS.

This is why I have been bugging you to get rcbot to make the change to the addons standerd. People with rental servers currently CAN NOT INSTALL RCBOT!

thanks Sandman.. finally someone got it.... aparently im not gonna be able to get rcbot in my server for quite long, so is this problem related to all bot plugins or its just about rcbot? if thats so can someone plz recomend me another plugin? i desperate need bots on my server to train the new guys that are playing, thanks

TSUNAMI. Maybe you could try the new whichbot. They support the addons standerd and are alien only bots but are quite intencive when they attack. Gotta watch out for the fades though, there brutel. I'm sure they won't dissapoint you.
