what versions did you use? im using RCbot BETA 1.4, metamod 1.17.4, Natural-Selection 3.03 and the most updated HLDS according to Steam as it says updated 100%

I tried it again just then, I managed to add 3 bots without crashing, but when I added the 4th bot it crashed..sometimes it crashes as soon as 2 bots come in..

My betas probably a newer version of yours, but no crash fixes are in it, just memory stuff and advanced bot tactics.

My metamod versions 4.1.17.2p10, I don't like updating metamod too often, theres new versions constantly, and a lot of them cause more problems than they solve, so I've stuck with this one for quite a while

yeah well the thing is, its the same when I use rcbot directly through liblist.gam without going through metamod, so I don't think metamod is the factor in this.

Also, the paths are fine I presume, because the fact I can acutally add bots.
Another thing is if I replace the 1.4 BETA RCBOT dlls with the 1.3 old ones, it doesn't crash and I can add bots fine, except they're stupid aliens don't attack.

I couldn't tell you then.. if it works fine with 1.3b and not 1.4, theres bound to be a file somewhere out of date...

did you *try* deleting the .brn .rcr and bot_player_ids.ini files yet ?

I've been working on it for the last four or five hours. Reinstalled the latest Amx Mod X, and Metamod (although it was working before on the versions I had).

If I run RCBot from liblist.gam the bots sit in the ready room. If I run them from Metamod's plugins.ini they might play a game before crashing the server.

It seems to happen intermitently when you start a new map (or the server starts). The map itself doesn't seem to matter which one.

Oh! I deleted all the files Cheeseh mentioned. No apparent affect.

I can make all files available though my ftp site if that would help, but I think there must be some common glitch that we're missing.

Stumped...

yes, like i said before i deleted the .brn and .rcr files and the bot_player_ids.ini, i didnt have one of those before but now i do, so i deleted it nothing new happened.

ah, the newest updated version seems to be working atm with 5vs5 bots, I'll try more bots over a longer time to see if it still crashes, thanks guys smile.gif

ok, still crashed. I added another bot on each team 6vs6 on ns_eclipse and it crashed. 5vs5 was ok.

I tried ns_seige007 it crashed on 1-2bots.

Yeah, same thing here. Except no change. I've got 2 Gig's of RAM on the server, so I guess that's not the problem.

yeah it works ok sometimes but I tried ns_blackmesa 6 vs 6 it crashed. ns_eclipse on 8v8 was fine. I guess the problem is still there, just doesn't occur as frequently.

Nah, some of those crappy 3rd party maps like ns_blackmesa and ns_castle_lg are crashing servers with or without bots. It's just that bots are making it easyer.

Check the waypoints on the third party maps maybe? I'm not having any problems at all so far. 17 hours running no problems.

There's bound to be problems, Cheeseh's been advancing the bots more this past week than has been in the past couple months, they're gettin very sexy very fast... tongue.gif
