Been hanging on this forum for like 3 hours now trying to get RCbot to work, but I'm stuck somewhere. I get both Whichbot and RCbot to start, but the console starts spitting out missing ini files about RCbot. Like, Reading Bot folder, folder not found, assuming standard path half-life/rcbot.
After both double and triplechecks, I can't find anything wrong, so I'll post it here and pray that someone of you have mercy on me and find the problem ![]() The path I have it all in is -> F:\HL\Steam\SteamApps\xxxx@xxxxx\halflife\ns\addons\metamod RCbot is installed in halflife\rcbot ------------ Plugins.ini in metamod folder looks like this # # $Id: plugins.ini,v 1.3 2003/05/19 06:55:08 clamatius Exp $ win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll win32 addons/whichbot/dlls/whichbot.dll linux addons/whichbot/dlls/libwhichbot.so ------------ lblist.gam in NS directory looks as follows: ------------ // Metamod. This file edited with HiveXX.exe // XX = Version number gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" gamedll_linux "addons/metamod/dlls/metamod_i386.so" ------------ Just noted that it says hivemind has messed with it, but since I've changed it, it shouldn't matter. halflife\rcbot folder looks as follows. rcbot\dlls~botprofiles~ns\waypoints ~means those folders are in the same place (hacky, eh?) Did try to make a rcbot_folder.ini file, but that just made the whole thing stop. I felt it was closer to see that it wasn't working that not see it at all, so I took that away again. As to what version I have of them, I'm pretty sure it's the newest ones of them. I had it working with hivemind, but found Whichbot, and updated Metamod, so I had Whichbot working at least. Any help would be greatly appreciated... I tried to stirr my hacker-braincells to get this working, but they were both sleeping ![]() |

I'm asuming that if rcbot is installed to it's default directory, the rcbot_folder.ini is not needed but it may still check for it reguardless.
Have you tried making the rcbot_folder.ini file and placing it in the half-life folder? If so, try leaving the contents blank and see what happens. |

No effect
![]() I also noted that the plugin.ini had rewritten itself during the night, for some divinely unintelligble reason, and made the programs die again ![]() But the rcbot_folder.ini didn't do anything.. grr |

if you have nothing in the rcbot_folder.ini, delete it

My only suggestion is to place the rcbot_folder.ini in the HL folder, put the default "half-life/rcbot" directory listing in and then write protect it by making it "read only".
You said that all your getting is an unsuccessful file check which is no big deal if it's still working. Are you experiancing any other problems? |

the rcbot_folder.ini needs to be in the MOD folder
![]() or again if you've installed it to the correct folder, maybe the working folder is wrong (the folder that all relative addresses are taken from) |
