This is an issue all bots are having on dedicated servers. RCbot seems to be the worst, but who else is experiencing overflow problems when using RCBot, Hivemind or Whichbot? I'm admin of a New Zealand server running hivemind, and every so often I get kicked due to Reliable overflow. This seems to happen more with RCbot, anyone got any ideas?

too many net messages getting sent with MSG_ONE_RELIABLE, if you have any change them to MSG_ONE_UNRELIABLE ( I think) thats what I've done, I can't see how it can be worse if I don't use any. The problem is probably metamod or NS itself.

I don't have the problem at all as far as I know, I heard the reliable channel overflow thing is due to specific routers not jiving with NS properly
http://www1.linksys.com/products/product.a...cid=29&prid=684 I'm gonna try one a them, people say they're bad, and it looks horrible, but it has features I want... and more than likely the reason people say they're bad is cause they're asshats and can't figure out how to work it... gotta blame somethin and it's easiest to not blame yourself! |

Actually, reliable overflows could be caused by to many net messages ( console giberish ) or to many sounds from poorly constructed amxmod, adminmod and/or metamod plugins on maps that are already pushing the hl engine to the limit.
Does this happen on any map or just certain maps? What is the actual overflow message? Skitchy, I have a Linksys router ( model WRT54G ) and I have never seen any reliable channel overflows caused by it. I use to get them alot on one spacific server but that was because of a botched amxmod plugin which has been long since fixed. |

There's no console message, you get booted out of the server with Reason: Reliable Server Overflow.

Specifically it was reported to happen with Linksys BEFSR41 models, version 2s I think, one of the firmwares had problems with steam

You got to have at least metamod. It's not possable to run whichbots without metamod let alone, two or more bots at once. What version of metamod are you running? And since you have metamod, I would also assume you use an administration plugin like amxmod or adminmod, right? |

Yep the latest firmware for BEFSR41 is crap for HL, you need to use +clientport 27006 to fix on command line if you are using it, otherwise all games you connect to will be porbbaly laggy and you'l get thrown out with lots of weird error messages, liek the one in my sig for a start. |

He asked what other plugins, not mods. I'm using an all-mod-support metamod version which was intended for beta 5 but I havent updated it.

Ummm, sorry Chaos. Metamod, Adminmod, AMXmod, Rcbot, Whichbot and Hivemind are plugins. Natural Selection, Team Fortress Classic and Counter Strike are mods. And I would stear away from those enhanced metamod versions unless you absolutely need functionalities they provide. Metamod 1.17.4 and up fully supports all NS versions upto 3.05. |

3.05, 3.04, 3.03, 3.02, and 3.01 are all just changes to the balance.txt file, its the 3.00 DLL, the only change to it was the visible version number in the browser
"final" means it's just not beta, not the final version they'll make. 3.1 should be out sometime soon, and its full of changes.. hopefully it'll be out publically by the time the NS forums are back up. [edit] no wait, 3.05 had some hitbox changes and stuff |

Getting into competitive NS with an alias rather than messing around with plugins.
