NS bug Options

while playing ns (vr 3.1.1) useing rcbot 1.3
the server unexpecdly crashes when (more of a freeze up were the screen dims) when ever certin things happen, ive only goten it so far so this is all i know
1. marine picks up a shotgun (or it could be the welder i dont know i droped both in the smae spot)
2. alien kills marine for the first time


perhapes this is just verion conflict, please which version of ns is rvbot 1.3 compatible (or rcbot v 1.38 (beta))

no wonder, the version you are using is like a year old (1.3), you cant expect that to work with Ns 3.1, get the latest temporary beta dll for metamod, and hence the latest metamod from above.

ok i think ive weeded out all but one probelm and thats geting meta mod and rc bot to work at the same time
if i change my shortcuts target to
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game "ns"HL.exe -dll ../rcbot/dlls/metamod.dll
meta mod works
if i do
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game "ns"HL.exe -dll ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot.dll-dll

rcbot works
what should it look like to make both run at same time

(did check meta mod web site that was highly confusing)

o btw cutos on the job you guys do on the foum iv eseen developers who chagerd for games do a much @#4^^&! job at getting back to people with problems,

i made the plugins.ini file and added the fallowing line to the file
win32 C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\dakenho@msn.com\half-life\rcbot\dlls\rcbot.dll

but that still only loads metamod and not rcbot

ive done the install guide and it still doesnt work! it loads meta but rc doesnt load

can you give us a hint to why it doesn't work like post liblist.gam and metamod.ini(think they the right files ain't updated to ns3.1 yet)

Here's yet another list of thing to install rcbot properly.

Please check steps 1 and m.2

HOW TO INSTALL

1. install rcbot to the correct folder (Thats "<drive>:/program files/steam/steamapps/<email>/half-life/rcbot")

2. get the latest bot dlls, extract into the rcbot dlls folder (half-life/rcbot/dlls)

3. install latest metamod, extract on Mod folder (e.g. half-life/ns)

m.1 edit NS liblist.gam file, change gamedll to "addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll" OR start game with hl.exe -game <mod (e.g. ns)> -dll "addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll" command line

ensure there is NO MORE THAN ONE gamedll line!!!

m.2 edit metamod plugins.ini (in half-life/<mod dir>/addons/metamod/ folder) add a line to link to rcbot's metamod dll (rcbot_mm.dll), the line would be win32 ../rcbot/dlls/rcbot_mm.dll (note: there are no quotes enclosing the dll filename! -sandman). That means it searches in ...steam/steamapps/<email>/half-life/rcbot/dlls/ folder for the rcbot dll, therefore this must exist in this directory!

ensure there is only ONE link to RCbot's metamod dll !!!

you are ready to go.
