I THINK.. the aliens no longer get upgrades in combat. They should have the little icons on the side of the screen when youre spectating them, but they're not there, and it's been so long since I've seen one go like.. cloaked or silenced.

They do get the 2nd and 3rd hive abilities, but I think that's it... and I've also seen them not get the abilities, go fade, and try to shoot acid rockets.

I don't think they're gettin em in normal NS maps either, the "check-if-you-have-this-already" plugin may always be returning 1 or something

But the marines get theirs, so I dunno. Maybe the impulses changed or something.

umm..our fades shoot acid rockets and onoses do charge. Bots dont get cloaking or buy grenades like cheeseh has said. You just have configs wrong. Visit our server and see for yourself wink.gif

I said they get the hive abilities, and the marines get upgrades, the aliens dont. As for the fades not getting the abilities and bringing out their acid rocket, watch early on in combat games and they go fade, and try to hit someone far away, or in NS games when the 3rd hive is gone, occasionally they'll try to fire acid rockets, they even have the BOT_EDICT_SWITCH_WEAPON and BOT_EDICT_ATTACK_TARGET or whatever edicts going on.


As for the upgrades, watch a map and see if they get celerity, silence, adrenaline, focus, cloaking, scent of fear, regeneration, carapace, or redemption.

An onos without carapace and/or regen is basically a short-lived slowly moving target, and a lerk without adrenaline ... won't be able to shoot much.

I might set up a test server on my laptop and try and debug it at work to see where the problem is, MY problem is theres too damn many lines in bot.cpp lol

People all tryin' to make fun of my configs, I know they're right, Cheeseh often gives me betas to test before releasing them on the site tongue.gif

Fixed the problem, I removed the upgrade code for combat for some reason, it must had been because I thought I already had it , when I hadn't.

So in the process I managed to get the combat upgrades to learn each round, adds a new info to the lil' GA each time, and every time a bot starts a game it will pick a evolved value (which is a number that says what upgrades they will get this round), or else they will pick a random upgrades if there are problems.

ps: the new version has been uploaded to the filebase!!

Their K:D ratios have increased dramatically in combat, but in NS maps theyre still not getting upgrades, if I knew what to look for in the code, I'd go check to make sure it was still there too tongue.gif

I think there may be a problem with their new code, so much as the saving, the server seems to crash a good deal more now at the end of co maps, when the bots are supposed to save their upgrade GA data... unsure.gif

I will have to look at it sometime :s

It may have something to do with the fact that also at the end of NS_ map rounds it will save combat data, which it shouldnt, but I fact that it my current build that I haven't uploaded yet.
